I don't know how much money (monthly payments) and time i've invested into WoW, whether or not it was worth it, it was definitely fun. Anybody else fall victim to this addiction?

haha yeah idk, i freaking loved pvp and all that jazz so it was hard for me to give it up but i did prefer the company of my real friends over the virtual world so i was like k lets snap back to reality. What faction and race/class did you play as your main?

I used to play WoW a few years back before I realized how much money I was spending. I then tried several free MMOs but they're no where as good as WoW...

I was not willing to fork over any money so I played on private servers.

I used to play and I did fall into about 6 months of heavy play but my girlfriend kicked my ass over it so I stopped. Went back for a bit of cata but after glad I stopped again, it just stopped being fun Posted Image. I dare say if I had some RL friends to session it with I'd go back but until then meh.

I used to play Marks Hunter/Ret Pally/Shadow/Disc Priest/Sub Rogue.. all PvP had glad on all xD

Luckily I never got into playing wow, but I did play other games that were almost just as addicting

I've heard so many stories about how addicting it is so I've always been to scared to start.
Unfortunately, I am still a victim to Warcraft III and Starcraft II by Blizzard... :(

i tried the trial but i got confused. i went into towns and didn't know what to do... it was soooo confusing so i quit. it seems as if all games are just mirrors of each other but with different stories and graphics.

All of the stigma surrounding WoW has scared me away from even trying the game :ninja:

Nope. It never really held that much appeal for me. I dunno why, either, as I like games like Oblivion...

I'm a recovering addict. I haven't played in months, but all said and done I had over 2 years of in game time. TWO YEARS OF MY LIFE IN THAT GAME. kind of depressing.

My boyfriend plays WOW and does raids every monday wednesday and friday..
i dun care because I play neopets 5 times as much as he plays WOW.
His players are all at 85 (idk what that means..) and he says they're worth like a couple thousand if he wanted to sell them
His best friend plays like all day every day though!

Yes, I have played off and on since vanilla but quit for good a few months ago. I never really had the time to raid so I would just hit max level, max out my professions and then get bored and wait until the new expansion. I've been trying to sell my account on Craigslist but it looks like WoW has rode its wave.

If I wanted to waste money monthly on something I never used I'd sign up for a gym membership.

Played for 2 years. Certainly don't regret it, if you don't let it get in the way of other shit it is a good time killer.

Man, I'd pay anything to experience vanilla wow again for the first time. Say what you want about the game being a huge waste of time and what not but exploring all those different areas in a 3D-game was really fucking awesome. Stranglethorn Vale will forever and always be my favourite virtual place.

I used to play all the time.. but ever since the end of WOTLK and start of Cata it's just not fun anymore. After a while I realized it never really was for me, it was more like a second job that I paid to work at LOL. Terrible. Me and my boyfriend quit cold turkey and never looked back :p Now if we want to play a game together we just play TF2! So much more fun and no subscriptions and wasted money. :)

I dabbled a bit a few times. Never played for more than a few months. Never even got too high of a level. It was a fun time waster sometimes, but I couldn't tear myself away from competitive FPS.

Been playing since vanilla. Nelf Hunter, Belf Priest, Drae Warrior, Drae Shammy all are 85. I've gotten bored with it though. Wrath pretty much killed the game. BC days were fucking epic. Got to see Illidan before the nerf so yeah, was pretty much into it.

Not addicted though. The entire time I've played I've maintained a steady GPA and made Dean's list more than once, got a gf, and still have friends. I hate that people call wow an "addiction". It's not an addictive substance. Period. If you have an addictive personality it could be anything you're drawn too. People need to stop putting the blame on a fucking game and look inwards as to what makes them drawn to a game to the point of where real life issues no longer matter.

I agree, the Vanilla and BC times were the best.
I have family and play it, not addicted, it is just a game, like others. I have two Kids :)
I only play in the evening, when they are in bed. And it is not more expensive as other hobbies. Like going out to drink with friends, or go online and raid a bit. WoW is cheaper :lol2:
I don't raid anymore, but I like questing for my own. I got the Loremaster before Cata.
