Okay, so if been going through some of the forums, and i've been looking for some info to help increase the effeciency of my AB (its really a Godsend). Unfortunately, i'm not an advanced member and almost all of the data that is being kindly offered on timing are all below the default settings. I'm not sure where else to post this and i've been going online for 2 weeks looking for anything that will help me out here.

If i'm not an advanced member yet, would the default settings be the most efficient numbers for getting better buying? I'm thinking that if i reduced the difference between the timings, it would be more conspicuous, so i haven't tried that yet. Would it be recommended for me to reduce the differences between timings?

Also, i have a question, i dont know if its relevant to this topic or not but i dont know where else to post it, below the Haggle Algorithm, if i set the haggle % to 0 does that mean i will buy the item at full price? Would this be a better tactic to getting the rarer and more expensive items that have an explosive profit margin? So if it sells at the shop for 10,000, but at the trading post for 1,000,000, should i set my haggle % to 0 or 100% to just buy the damn thing?

The stats for my ABer are the default (the lowest possible) just tweaked the max:

GWD 8.0 - 9.5
MS Pre Haggle 1.0 - 1.0
OCR Delay 1.0 - 1.4 (apparently cant change the max either)
Attic 3.0 - 5.0

Haggle Algorithm: Smart
Haggle %: 7.3%

Shopping at specific shops using lists i created and uploaded into the ABer.
If anybody wants the lists, i'm willing to share them so long as the moderators approve of me passing them out. I update them once every few days with newer items or items that seem to have increased in profitability.

Thanks for any responses!

Smart haggle is the best if your going for UBs
I AB in small shops and my haggle % is like 10

I don't bother testing how high I can go with haggling % since it barely makes a difference overall. I just go for a low % which is essentially 0%, so it buys asap (to answer your question)

Edit: if you have an AAA list I'd like one :) although non-advanced members will probably never get anything with 3.0-5.0 Attic times hehe

Honestly, the non-advanced members usually don't have to worry about tweaking any settings. It's almost perfect the way it is (unless you want to raise your refresh rates a little). Don't bother with the haggle algorithm :p Tweaking it might just make you miss the item due to an improper haggle amount ;o

i dont understand what the haggle algorithm is. what does it do? higher %= buy items at higher price? i only care about whether i can buy that item instead of missing so what should i set it as.

I'm pretty sure that a higher percent for haggling means that you TRY to pay LESS for the item. The higher you raise it, the more likely it is that the shopkeeper will reject your offer and make a counteroffer, and making you more likely to miss the item.

    Hey guys,

Thanks for the replies, its really helped alot (now i know how to set the friggin haggle algorithm so i can just buy that item without haggling)

So i am assuming that 0% means you dont haggle at all and that you buy the stated price, and that the higher the haggle % the longer it will take to get the item.

For the item lists, i've been compiling them since i started ABing with Abrosia, as i dont like the randomness generated by using the neocodex lists, so i spend 1 night in 1 small shop buying away at high profitability items.

    I have lists for:

    #1 Fresh Foods
#2 Magic Shop (Morphing Potions Specifically)
    #14 Chocolate Factory
    #15 Bakery
    #20 Tropical Fruits
#30 Spooky Foods (including that much sought after Snout thingy)
    #37 Icy Fun Snow Shop
#56 Merifoods (Specifically Draik Eggs and High Porfit Range items)
#108 Mystical Surroundings (i dont know why. Hahaha.)

    Currently creating lists for:

    #3 Toy Shop
    #7 Magical Bookshop
    #48 Usukiland

I dont have the AAA item list just yet, as i've only recently upgraded the Abrosia to cover that, and haven't explored it yet. I'm also finding it difficult to find an item database that covers the items sold there (they just say that PB and Eggs are sold there).

My lists target a specific profit margin and above, and i edit according to how lucrative the purchase can be as well as a minimum profit earned when sold. So as the list is constantly evolving, please forgive me for any discrepancies. (Am i a control freak? Hahaha) Make a specific request here and i'll get you the list. If the shop you want is not up there, let me know and i'll set about creating one.

Thanks to the neocodex item database, where a majority of the information is from. I spent literally hours pouring over them and other minor sites to get the newest items onto my lists. :D

That's on our list of things to do. :p We can collect information which no other (legit) Neopets Item Database site can.

Well, i'm hoping to accumulate enough posts to be able to do that. I dont have a credit card so i cant purchase the advanced membership through the subscription. So this is my only option left. And besides, i'm able to specifically target certain items and remove other items i dont want. I have an alphabetical list for removing said items, and a list according to profitability, so i can edit from the number of NP i want to earn and insert that into Abrosia instead.

    So waiting patiently. Hahaha.

Which is why i love Neocodex Item Database! After browsing through quite a few, including the Neos, the Neocodex list suits my needs perfectly. Well, once i can find enough data for the AAA list, i will make it, so that non-advanced members have a slightly better chance trying to get great items. :)

Hella yeah. Neocodex is really one of the best item databases, and i've been searching through quite a few for a long time now.

Made my first million through ABrosia! It only took me 7 days!

Damn, its a good program. Now if i could only lower my settings to get those morphing potions. Hahaha

Its a good program to use even without being an advanced member. Seriously it helps loads, and by using it first, you'll be able to get used to the settings and stuff.

Its a good idea, as there is a chance you can get really good rare items. I got a library faerie stamp! WOO

Next to impossible without faster settings, so start your way in the smaller shops and perfect your settings. I've been trying this whole week and not a single morphing potions. :S

You feel my pain! It take alot of effort especially for MAgic Shop and Plushie Palace, where you need to type out over 500 names into a list.

Thanks for that, though no one has asked me for any of the lists yet. So i'll be the one to use them. :)
