Half way through playing AC I realised that I could no longer view any neopets pages. Anyone know what is going on?

Can TNT actually block IP addresses from accessing Neopets?

Now I have to use a proxy to get access... and the speed is like fail.

Initially they can, but if you think about it why would they? That would mean less money for them if you buy NC all the time.

    Yeah I kno.

But if it is not TNT... then who is it?

It is like there is some force out there preventing me from going on neopets and forcing me to study for my damn exams.

I've heard they don't care even if you supply them with $$$.

Yes. they do that quite often. mostly for ABing. Cheating for trophies almost never gets you IP banned though.

Man... that's quite sad. It makes it even more attractive to just cheat for trophies.

So when does the ban end? I mean what's the point of banning the IP if I can just get a new one and continue

A few years ago, Soredavid was IP banned from neo. I've lost contact with him a longgg time ago.

If you can get a new IP then that's great - once your IP is banned however that's it, banned indefinitely.

Seriously - if they think you're cheating, and even if they don't but are feeling a little trigger happy than people may get IP Banned.

I've only been frozen the once, but then my cheating is fairly low-risk. If you AB like crazy then it's obviously a different story!

I was IP banned once but that was for being stupid and cheating on a ton of accounts on the same IP and selling a lot of stuff etc. Now I'm older and wiser and use proxies :)

    Haha... well said.

I think I am where you were. Young and naive. and now... without a Neopet home to go to

but the reason why i didn't use proxies was because i had no idea how they worked.

anyone want to direct me to a particular topic that discusses that?

What does it say if you're IP banned? Can you just not connect at all?

You connect to the site, but you can't log in

    false alarm lol.

I tried again the next day (because I didn't believe they would seriously ban me) and amazingly I got in. No idea why it didn't work the first few times.

Basically when it "blocked" me (assuming that TNT did).. I could not even get connected to the site. None of the neopets pages would load. I could only access it through a proxy. Which I have since found very useful :)

They cannot completely block you from accessing all aspect of the site.
They can however restrict you from creating a new account. You can click as many times as you want and nothing will happen lol
They can also restrict you from accessing many portions of the site, i.e. the portions that require you to log in. If you are IP banned, you can enter the username/password of your account as many times as you want, the combo will be correct, but it will say incorrect username/password combo and not let you log in.
Usually you have to do QUITE a bit of /bad/ things in order to have this happen to you xD

Here's a question though. For places like campus residence and other large buildings that generally share the same IP. Would TNT ban them all for one person? o.0 I never figured that out and I always suspected IP bans to be some sort of ruse to get us scared of cheating
