I was wondering if neopets and its flash games take up loads of GB as I have a 40 GB limit each month
From what I've been googling, I've been reading that neopets isn't very bandwidth intensive.
Wow, thats a low limit. Why so low?? My bf and I used at least 80-100GB every month and our limit is 250GB.

How about the bots, would they take up gb too if I leave them running? I'm just a bit paranoid because you need to pay extra if you've gone over the limit... XD

I dunno it's my mother's choice, she's thinking of going unlimited though. Thats the standard rate here. It's either 40GB or go unlimited.

Using the programs will use less bandwidth than doing the same actions normally because they don't load any images or things like javascript etc.

Even if you assume a purchase every eight seconds, which would be 3 page loads, with the autobuyer running continuously, your allotted bandwidth would last you four months, twenty one days and seventeen hours.
I think you're good.

40GB divided by 8.61kB (size of a stocked Food shop) is 4.6 million page loads.

Although that doesn't take into account anything else they might be doing with their internet connection during the month too, of course. I think I probably get through 40GB within a week so it's probably a good job I have unlimited.

Same xD But it doesn't sound like they're a tremendously net-intensive family.Although that doesn't take into account anything else they might be doing with their internet connection during the month too, of course. As long as they're not downloading music, tv programmes or films every day *cough* they should be fine.
Well, i;m the only one using the internet mostly. Apparently I used over 100GB last month xD
Looks like Joe was wrong.

It's hard to reach that kind of level unless you're downloading television, film, or copious amounts of music, in which case "unlimited" is a sound investment.
*slow*

That's because I was doing those things you mentioned, Waser Lave XD
You should probably get unlimited if you want to continue doing that then.

I personally think it's a waste of time having broadband if it's limited to only 40GB a month especially considering I have a 40Mb connection so it's pretty easy to use up all that bandwidth quickly.

My whole family has 60GB a month and three of us are major internet users. Not to mention we stream HD anime every day. We monitor our internet usage really closely to try to avoid overdoing it. So far when comparing the days I don't go on neo and the days I do there's like no difference so I don't think it should be too much of a problem

Haha. That's tons in New Zealand.
Starting broadband plans are from 1GB a month, and it's like $60 a month for 40GB.
(and then the internet is dead slow anyway)
Anyway, Neo doesn't take up much bandwidth.

haha, they have cities in NZ right ?
Here in Belgium they're trying for the first time 'unlimited' but it's still with special conditions as max 10G a day and such.

But yeah, I think Neopets is pretty light.
