Sooo... he's abusing the system while good tax paying people who're trying to figure out if they can pay for their food or mortgage or prescriptions this month are getting fucked over because this guy doesn't want to actually put some effort into fending for his own god damn self?

Cry me a river, I don't care. He's not making a point. He's abusing the system for his own betterment and it's a dick move to pull. End of story.

Right.. and the citizens in the 1700's weren't making a point by not paying the extra penny for a government stamp on all documents, despite the law... Or what about the Boston Tea Party? They weren't making a statement, they were just being dicks and wasting the equivalent of millions of dollars of good tea. What about Rosa Parks when she refused to give up her seat? Was she also just being selfish and only caring about her own ass for that one hour? Or is it possible that she was taking a political stand for all of her people?

Doing something to benefit yourself and doing something to benefit society do not have to be mutually exclusive.

How the fuck are you even comparing those things to this guy which has already stated "Verone says he’s not a political man." He WAS doing this for himself and he DOESN'T give a rats ass as to if his actions will change anything or not.

Apples and oranges man, come on.

I'm not suggesting that he is a political man, I am suggesting that the action itself IS political in nature and highlights a key problem in the American healthcare system.

But it doesn't matter if he's not doing it for any other reason than for himself! I don't see how I can make this any clearer; this guy isn't doing shit and is a selfish ass for committing a felon to get free health care. Then you go and compare him to Rosa Parks?! Wtf, uhm no. Have fun with the rest of this thread, I'm out. :nono:

I have a long post typed out and my Internet crashed and has been down for nearly a half an hour... :S I'll paste it here when my net goes live again.

    (on my mobile)

My Internet will apparently be down until a technician comes out on Thurs. =\ I may type out my response in my mobile in a bit if I get bored.

Because you didn't seem to get the implication of the italics and the underlining, I'll just come out and say it. He's committing a FELONY. He is becoming a FELON.

I said above that I don't think his decision may have been the wisest for him. I hate to break it to you, but going to prison isn't exactly a walk in the park... and the healthcare that they receive is generally sub-par.

As to the comparison of previous citizens who took a political stand; At the end of the day, we can only look back upon these citizens and measure their success by our current moral compasses and the level of success that they achieved through their actions. At its very core, they behaved disobediently to better their own lives or to prove a point in hopes of bettering their own life at the expense of someone else and the status-quo. This is not about this man, but about the larger picture of health care in America. More importantly than any of his intentions of being political, my point remains that his action brings to light the subject that murderers are treated to healthcare in this country when millions of hard working people are not.
