But that's why I celebrated yesterday. There was actually a party for my brother's grade for finishing middle school. All day yesterday, the middleschool rented out the park for this huge party with bouncy castles/obstacle courses and the graduate's families were invited. My brother played all day with his friends all day while I played Brawl in my friend's car (yes, his car is hooked up and he's there because he has a sister who also graduated). When we got bored, we poisoned ourselves with toxic amounts of cotton candy and pretzels. Good times...

They're big, they're stupid enough to not move out of the way, and if they get crushed under your shoes or tires, they smell of rotten fish. Effectively harmless but kind of ruined the night.

I just found out I passed my second year too with a 2:1 narrowly missing a first, but that was my own fault for letting personal issues get to me during the exam..

Hi Calum,
I just found out I passed my second year too with a 2:1 narrowly missing a first, but that was my own fault for letting personal issues get to me during the exam..
If you've got extenuating circumstances you could probably get an extra couple of percent by filling out a form.

I highly doubt boyfriend breaking up with you day before exam would count as an extenuating circumstance.. even though in the exam I did sit there and nearly burst into tears at one point

That happened to me on Valentine's Day once. Luckily, I was at a Goth Festival instead of an exam, so it was okay for me to cry.

Except for primary school. Sure, uni students don't really name them, but what about the upper sixth? Or whatever. We don't name our years in England.
At least Americans use the same year names for high school and university.

I guess upper sixth is the same as our sixth form (age 16-18).
And primary school isn't really named like your 'junior' or 'freshman' things, it's just primary school, we still call the individual years by their numbers (so year 6 is the last year of primary school, year 7 is the first year of secondary school).

Whatever, calling anything above 6th grade sixth is stupid and confusing.I guess upper sixth is the same as our sixth form (age 16-18).

In our system it used to count from the first year of secondary school, so year 1 was when you were 11-12, up to year 5 when you were 15-16, then sixth form is 16-18. We didn't have sixth grade like you do.
