And then there's also some smart people with exceeding large shops... they just hoard 1 type of item causing its price to increase and make profit from it... most common would be codestones.. but there was one i was a shop with over 1000 pant devil attractor...

I was thinking about hoarding those too!
But fishing keeps em too well supplied, so the price won't ever increase that much

I've always thought the majority of the items that were bought for manly for quest. I'm not so sure about food though, since if people actually bother to feed their pets they could simply buy an omelet

People buy just about anything. If humans were once sold as slave labor, why wouldn't an online digital item be sold for cosmetic purposes?

No, ppl dont just buy anything, it's all depend on supply and demand.

More demand less supply the item get ridiculously expensive
More supply less demand the item rot in your shop until everyone is selling the same thing for 1np

I always thought it was funny how people buy 'HTS' items with intentions on selling and most people buy them with intentions on selling. there's not much of a real use to the item lol.

Some people like collecting usuki dolls. But they can go up to 8 mil, so they can be sold for profit.

I've always liked to hoard items hoping they'll retire. :L

Those are mostly for galleries, but resellers will easily pick it up from you and sell it at a higher price, at the cost of a very low price.

I always just assumed it was mostly quests (kitchen, employment, kadoatery etcetera) that greased the wheels of the neopets economy.

You are correct - partially...that's why when the big Faerie Quest event was on many quest item prices inflated.
