TNT has been deflating everything lately. I have a pirate items which have now been deflated a heap thanks to the recent event.
Do you usually keep items or pure? What kind of things are good to invest in?

I generally get the NP, then I don't know what to do with it.

unless you can predict which is going to retired.

i'll aim for those plot events where item is limited.

Hence why everybody's going mad over that governor mansion's stamp
Its both a stamp, and a plot item! two for one!

I generally go for pure. It is more versatile, plus its annoying to have a bunch of high-profit HTS items.

I usually convert pure into HT weapons - like those element swords or ETS that in general won't have much decrease in value overtime. I am also stocking up cheap and common stamps that were released a long time ago.

considering there is usually inflation as time goes on, stocking up items can prevent you from losing due to the weakened purchasing power of np.

However, bear in mind that keeping pure can give you interest.

    Keeping items.
    Pros:
    1. less likely to suffer from loss due to weakened purchasing power of np
    2. easy to transfer among accounts.
    Cons:
    1. you loss some bank interest
    2. TNT may suddenly go nuts one day and release a s**t lot of items that have similar effect as those you have.

You'll probably want to stick with getting your hands on (retired) r101/r180 Weapons(old weapons, retired weapons, cove weapons), Collectibles(old rare, retired stamps), maybe certain consumables that are limited in quantity...but I havent really seen consumable stuff like food for example go up in price at all even though they're retired/limited in quantities etc so I wouldnt focus too much on those at all.

I'd agree with undead and invest in weapons and stamps. But predicting how they'll fair in the future is impossible. They could easily suddenly release more, or make it an avatar item, or retire it. It's a gamble. But at same time could pay off more than you might earn off of stocks and bank interest (ways to increase NP from NP).

Recommendation: Diversify!! In both items to hold on to and means of increasing NP.

Never keep pure...if you're too afraid to invest, at least buy HT items (weapons, paintbrushes)

HT items are a terrible idea, as unless they retire (slim chance) you are losing the 12.5% interest that np would have gotten

I may be unabashedly biased, but TNT definitely retired a ton of HT items last month. More than one of which I owned. :whistling:

but none of those items are worth anything to anyone who isn't an extreme collector.
it's also entirely dependant on TNT's whims, which is like trusting a cat to manage your investment portfolio.

Both pure and items lose. The winner is the stock market.

That 12.5% interest is a pain-in-the-ass to get everyday, if you have the np on shells or if the np is scattered across different accounts.
If that interest was automatically accrued, then pure would be the way to go, but to me, i'd rather place my np on something like what undead has said.
Plus its easier to transfer and less detectable by TNT

Pure is golden. It deflates overtime, but who doesn't love the feeling of staring at your money and hoarding it all day.

If you could get rid of more than 15k a day I would agree but making 500k+, 15k isn't much.

    ^
Pure does does deflate overtime, but converting it to ETS HT items doesn't stop the deflation as their prices are static unless you are investing in items that are guaranteed to inflate(items with limited quantities) I'd stick with pure and try for a high ticket items like the Dr. Sloth stamps.
