i hope that made sense, maybe i'm still high ugh -_-
and also, i think the requirement thing is very appropriate, otherwise the market would be pretty jeopardized with the large influx of competitive members who are using the same program. i think it makes sense that we need to fit into reqs to become advanced members, otherwise everybody would just come in, download whatever they needed, and there'd be no point in maintaining any business on the forums here. That'd be certainly a waste, since i am sure that a lot of programmers put their efforts into this website, and it'd be nice to see their efforts contributing to something bigger.
ugh idk hope that made sense

oh, its not you or anything. just having issues with what i see going on here. it seemed to me like i found the access to information i was looking for in finding abrosia and this site, just to find out it appears to be a for profit site either personally or financially. even the terms and conditions toted this as an educational site, and rather now i find my access to these programs being blocked lest i earn membership. it seems more of a hassle to access information and to learn in this way than to continue using greasemonkey. i might have to put more work in to profit on neopets because everyone else is using abrosia but i wouldnt have to bother with being held back from what it was i came here for. which is not only profit in a game but to understand the process itself. learning about scripts and proxies has only been a stepping stone in this learning. unfortunately this site actually seems to do the opposite of teaching me. it leaves me on my own to learn because im unwilling to deal with the form in which they require me to gain information. 500 posts doesnt mean ive earned anything, nor does any other application process ive seen proposed. rather they add a human element which would make a fair chance at access less likely imo. it would mean i have to fit into some set of requirements that could easily be manipulated on either end. but whatever, i will continue to watch and see how this all plays out while all everyone is doing is using the same thing as greasmonkey scripts combined into one program, then formatted in a way that everyone is stuck using it because you dont have access to the framework till your "cool" enough or pay them money.
This isn't exactly the right section to express your opinion. But I will address what you have stated.
We are not "for profit". The Advanced Membership features is a way of both paying for our bills, and working to reward the Programmers for their hard work. We have actually offered our programs for free for around 5 of our 7 years of existing. After a while we discovered that this just simply was not going to cut it. All of our programs are able to be used just by simply signing up. Before we used to have restrictions so new people couldn't get it, or better programs went to older members, and things like that. Even with all of that hard work, people just took the programs and left. At what point is it justified that we should allow anyone to take our programs and just leave? You seriously underestimate both the quality and work put into these programs. Claiming that these are just "greasemonkey" scripts, is a serious insult to what we do. First of all, all of our programs run faster then a greasemonkey script. They also have much more features, and include something a grease monkey script could never do. Item Database Integration. Abrosia completely dominates a greasemonkey script entirely because of its ability to remain up to date in pricing changes, the kad feeder also dominates with its ability to predict times, and not refresh every few seconds. We strive to create the best programs in the industry, and anyone who uses programs from other sites, with agree that we are superier. So given that our programs are the best that there is, we have a slight problem. People enjoy taking our hard work without so much as a thank you. This is why we added the requirements for advanced. We wanted people to post at least 500 times before they could use everything completely. While these doesn't mean anything at all, at least it forces them to stick around for a bit, and show us a little appreciation for our hard work. Then we added the paying option, because being willing to pay us for our hard work, is certainly a huge thanks to us. Money is a primary way of rewarding hard work, and while we are willing to be happy with just accepting thanks, we are not stupid enough to deny payment as well. As for adding a human component to voting. After looking over two years, we see far to many cases of people reaching advanced and just leaving, and never coming back unless there is an update that they need. That makes me sad, because I don't do this work before I find it fun (Playing video games is generally more entertaining) I do it because I want to provide awesome programs for the community. If the community just takes the programs and leaves, this gives me no reason to continue releasing programs.
We could just change our site to 100% pay, and charge everyone 20 dollars a month for the programs. We would make probably three times as much money as we do now, and not have to deal with any complaints about how they can't just get access to the programs and leave.

You said everything I wanted to say.
I understand your point trash, but no need to take this too seriously, it's a human factor, what is the problem with it? I mean, i dont think you need be Cool or Pop people to the others vote 'Yes' on your apply. Don't think everyone will hate you for no reason, lol.
This is necessary to filter out people who deserve to be Adv and who do not deserve. (Spammers, etc...)

all in all, i can understand why people might not care what im saying. i did just join. thats why its all the more of concern to me. users that already have access would just go on as usual while the rest of us deal with the new change. i know its up to the admins to make a decision concerning policy, but its up to us as users to deal with the reality. knowing this now it makes me concerned. if need be i could end up going to a competing site like hiddenbelow which has the same reqs in a way except theyve already implemented the point system. ive just found myself here instead, so id like to give this site a chance.
i totally understand iargue, and i do thank you for the work you and others have put in. if you've read my other posts on this subject you'd already know that i've just now come into owning my own computer for the first time. in all reality i'm homeless and i doubt i will see myself having the internet access i have right now to be here to learn. this is a whole new opportunity for me to learn. through this learning process i found this site. as i just said, i'm here to stay if its a place where there's something either for me to contribute or to learn from. and theres always something to learn
