I've got a size 8 shop, and I was wondering if I should specialize to sell only one or two types of items until I expand it more. If yes, what size should it be before I diversify?

Don't bother, only malls with like size 300 shops can ever survive like that. Unless you only plan to do like lab maps or something.

No, especially with such a tiny shop.
Keep expanding and selling whichever items you've managed to restock.
Unless you want to go into the malling business with enormous shop sizes (200+), I wouldn't suggest specializing in one type of item.

I have a size 47 shop, and I tend to overly specialize in food I get from my Dice A Roo wins. Other than that it's mostly stuff I get from dailies or things I've hoarded in my SDB.

it's hard to specialize i think, where would you dump all your other stuff (from dailies etc)?

I have a size 16 shop and I semi-specialize (or that's what I call it).
I'm listed in a shop directory under 4 categories: backgrounds/wearables (RSing in magical surroundings and wearables from the AAA), books (RSing in books), food (something that ALWAYS comes out of my SDB and also dailies), and general (other random SDB stuff).

Sometimes I have repeat buyers who buy out multiple items of the same category - mostly the backgrounds and books, of course, and also the cheap SDB items.
