I've been using Ambrosia, pretty much just using default values, except I lowered the profit requirement to around 1-2k.
Except... it hasn't brought me any items. :(

First off: You're not advanced, so you can't expect miracles.
Second: Leave it alone for a few hours, and if you're in database mode the chances of making a buy are very high.

I see. I understand that I'm not a member. I'm just curious as to how often should I expect a buy especially if I've set the profit margin to 2k.
Two buys an hour? One buy every two? I'm just curious. =)
Also, if I wanted to select my own shops, how do I do that? I don't expect a detailed guide here, but a link to a guide would certainly be helpful.
Lastly, my AB seems to be staying in one shop. Is this just something that I can't change or is this changeable only for members?

You can't select a shop unless you're advanced. The actual frequency of buying depends totally and completely on the shop and time that you are ABing. The AB should change shops every 45 minutes by default, I'm not sure if non-advanced can change that or not.

Ahhh. Thank you! I see a few buys now and it does clear up a few things about the program, especially about what to expect. =)

Don't think you can't make a lot being a normal member. If you AB every day, you can easily make 2m a week.

    2m a day or bust. I average 1.

Haha. You guys are too pro. I'm trying to work myself around the program. I don't want to do anything too foolish, at least not enough to be a total noob and get frozen the first week.
Thanks for the tips. =) Do you suggest lowering the refresh speed a little or the haggle speeds?

You can't lower the haggle speed for non-advance, but you can lower the max refresh rate. x)
    E.g. 8-10s instead of 8-12s.

Yeah, what they've said above. ^
I don't make much either, to be honest. You just have to make sure the settings are reasonable and you can make a some money.

So many tips. I'm glad I asked. Thanks guys. I'll try shortening the refresh speeds and see if that helps a bit.
There's a rarity restriction depending on how long THIS account has been opened, correct?

I don't think I'm expecting 1 mil miracles. That would be nice, but the game would grow old for me too quickly. I'm just that type of person. I just need a steady progress and I find the whole buying and selling thing more legit than just sending scores... (though I do just a tiny bit of that to get neopoints for investment).

Noobly question: Nothing to do with this, but what are some boards on this forum that are fun to hang around?

There's a rarity restriction depending on your neopets account's age

(If you still want to send scores to make neopoints you could use the Score Sender)

& The Chit-Chat, General Entertainment, or just the whole General Chat forums are pretty nice ^_^

I am making an average of 1,784,298.2 neopoints daily. I just made a sale for 1.35mil and another for 1.25mil. I've been getting good restocks this last week and I have mine set to => 5k profit. Shop sales alone in the last 3 days have been just shy of 1.2mil.

I am also using default settings, my profit is around 1.5 k and I mainly buy in clothing with the help of a list, I can pick up 20-30 items on a good day + a few attic snags if i'm lucky. I'm not making like a million a day but its enough to support my Abing + add some money to my bank account. You should be patient and try using a list to streamline your buying.

I don't really want to open a new topic, so can someone help me here? I keep on getting this error when trying to open progam manager: see the logfile C:\Program Files (x86)\neocodex\manager\pre_loader.exe,log for details.

I already tried uninstalling and reinstalling. How to solve?
