They did it to themselves!

I don't actually think it would be that much of a problem for a team of maybe 4 or 5 illustrators to do that in a week or so. Most of the items are pretty simple! And designers have to do that kind of rubbish work all the time, all part of the job! Plus they are super lazy anyway, I've had a few items for my Xwee that just do not look right...at all...and totally need redrawing. Meh.

Maybe it'll be an NC pet that can only where special NC clothes designed for it. And then they'll do another one...and then they'll start phasing out all the none NC pets..... ^.^

(they could get around the redrawing thing by make pets of similar shapes to the existing ones.......)

They could bring back some of the very old pet designs that were rejected and make them the new species!
That would be great, I'd actually start enjoying looking at my deformed pet

Hughman is what popped into my mind when reading old pet designs. I'd be laughing myself to death if they released something like that and people would be protesting "slavery exists in the interwebs".

TNT has no wish to create a new neopets anytime soon, they mentioned in a previous editorial (that I'm too lazy to go look for) about how long it'd take (years) them to draw/adjust all the wearables/etc. (idunno, I just skimmed through it x-x) if that were to happen.
