Actually this will probably encourage many of the guests that lurk all the time, such as the ones reading this right now, to create accounts and participate in our community. I never even considered that until now and it just goes to show how creative our Admin's are in finding a way to appeal to new and old members all at the same time. +Rep to you both.

erm.. after i finished reading the post.. i only saw the requirements to enter the competition which is the two statement below..

Are an advanced member or higher (subscribed or voted)
Have had a minimum of 20 non-spam posts within the competition time. (Competition closes for entrants on the March 8th, 2012, 12:00 AM PST)

just a question.. what is the competition? is it to get the min 20 non-spam post?

and we only register for the competition once the requirements are met right?

Along with sending the email (that's to actually enter) you will need to pass those 2 requirements (your advanced membership will be checked at the time of entry so you must ensure you are an advanced member when you enter). The post requirement will be checked througout the competition (I will randomly be checking people as to reduce the workload once entries close).

As for selection of the winner, this was posted in the original announcement thread:

ah.. Thanks for the clarification! so our first competition is actually a lucky draw competition.... so that means I have to register now and you will be checking from time to time whenever you're free to prevent anyone from cheating on the post counts.

I am pretty sure Onlyme was referring to the fact that she for the most part only posts gifs and doesn't really make many meaty "non-spam" posts.

It would be a bitch to validate entrants if we didn't have some kind of vetting system, using the Advanced Member rank is an effective way of preventing people from trying to abuse the competition. In an ideal world everybody would be able to enter but we've learned from SOTW competitions that some people just can't be trusted when there's something to win, unfortunately.
