I just tried to buy NC through Paypal on Neopets.

At the last stage, after I finished paying, on Neopets I got this message, "Oops! We are experiencing technical difficulties. Please try again." And I didn't get any NC.

But I got a confirmation from Paypal saying that I authorized a payment to "Nickelodeon Virtual Worlds."

And I got a receipt number, and Invoice ID.
"Please keep this receipt number for future reference. You'll need it if you contact customer service at Nickelodeon Virtual Worlds or PayPal."

What the Hell is going on?

    You should probably keep this...

You'll actually be wanting to submit a ticket to TNT or cancel payment with Paypal.

The screenie is the confirmation email from Paypal. I thought it was weird since it has no price amount. This is the first time I'm using Paypal, I didn't create a Paypal account, I used the direct payment method using a debit card.

I'm so confused, I don't even know if that email means that the payment went through, or what.

I think the best advice we can give is to file a ticket with TNT? That's really strange that that happened.

Make 10 more $50 payments then backcharge them all to piss TNT off

I would do it, if I wasn't too terrified of not getting that money back :p

Check if you got charged. Sometimes you can authorise payments without actually being charged (i.e. you can authorise Neopets to charge you, but if they errored, they may not have done so). Just check your online balance or something.

This sometimes happens when there is a hiccup in their automated payment system. It's NC related, so TNT will get back to you really quickly if they did indeed charge you without giving you any product.

Check your balance, if it was charged and you got no NC, contact TNT with the PayPal invoice number, transaction ID, what time you attempted the payment and your PayPal info. Take screenshots of the email and the balance change in your account, since it will show that you did indeed authorize a charge to Neopets.

With that you'll have more than enough proof to show you're not trying to screw them, and they'll correct it if need be.

Update: They got back to me really quickly, because it was money related. It turns out it was as zandra said. The transaction didn't complete, and it was cancelled by Neopets. So happy ending :) The PayPal transaction was deemed void and nothing was deducted.

Yep it happens, Just an FYI. If your account gets frozen and you bought NC you can open a claim and get your money back. One of my accounts was frozen and a day before I bought NC. Opened a claim and paypal claimed my favor. Used that money to buy NC on another account :D
