You're about to read a LONG thread, lots of questions. If you really are willing to help, then please do.

Sometimes I'm lazy, sometimes not. This time I decided to search for guides so I'll have less questions, but things are still unclear for some one like me, after all, I'm new :)
So I've read the next pages:

http://www.neocodex....he-abrosia-faq/

Q: Will my Neopets themes interfere with my ability to use this program?
A: Yes. For now, Abrosia can only handle the basic themes. Please change your theme to basic before running the program.

What does it mean "basic themes"?
Is that the meaning of removing my shop design? Or using Neopets at it's basic design (yellow-white one)...

http://www.neocodex.us/forum/topic/108724-abrosia-explained/
Makes sense.

Helped me on deciding the timing:
http://www.neocodex.us/forum/topic/107488-ss2-addendum-scots-guide-to-autobuying/

Just to find out how am I supposed to create list, I think I'll do it manually.
http://www.neocodex.us/forum/topic/110998-how-to-make-an-abrosia-list-in-less-than-5-minutes/

I am not willing to use proxy, since I have just one main account (I mean, I recall opening two more other accounts, but I havn't logged into them for very long time and not planning to do so).
But if you have other suggestions / opinions, I'd like to hear them.

Also, I'm still confused about the shop things, like general shops or user shops, I'd like to have more explanation.
This guide is useful but not really cleared things to me about the shops:
http://www.neocodex.us/forum/topic/107488-ss2-addendum-scots-guide-to-autobuying/

I know there's a shop list, but still...
(I know i shouldn't use the Magic Shop, Stamp Shop, and the Weapons shop).

And what rarity items should I use? Or can I just leave the rarity out as long as I find profitable items?
Also from reading this guide:
http://www.neocodex.us/forum/topic/71554-new-and-improved-guide-to-autobuying-abrosia-style/
I understand it has to do something with aged accounts... so my acc is 7 yrs old. O:

Num num... this:
http://www.neocodex.us/forum/topic/92687-the-3-step-indepth-guide-on-how-not-to-get-caught-autobuying/page__p__1210929#entry1210929
I'm not going to try and make a profit of 100k on my first try, I just want to see if I can get any profit at all, even if it's just 10k (I'll run it manually at first).
Also I'm too lazy to create a pet page O:

Uh... Do I need any extra files to run the Abrosia?

So, the main questions are about the proxy, the shops (what and how should I use), rarity index - for the list and stuff, and the last one about the extra files.

Thanks a lot for those who are willing to help!!!
And for those who are too lazy - at least I wasn't too lazy to do the research :p

I'll start with you first question... The neopets theme. You can customize your account with HTML code all you want... Its talking about changing the actual theme on the neopets settings. Try to keep it to the basic colors they give you like yellow, green, blue. (mine is currently blue)

Q #2 - Since you are new and still haven't experimented on your own... Leave the settings on default first. Try those out first and adjust as you see fit later.
Also... on a side note... even though that guide is a really really great guide. Not everyone has success with those times. Its different for everyone depending on where you live (how far you are from the neopets servers) and how fast your internet connection is.

Q#3 - General shops are the neopet stores... stamps, magic, fresh foods... and so on. User shops are the shops created by other neopet players. You will have your own user shop eventually so you can sell the items that you buy from the general shops (we call them main shops)

Q #4 - Creating your own list is pretty self explanatory. But your question on whether you should base it on rarity or profit... Base it on profit. Rarity of an item does not necessarily determine how many neopoints you will make.

You do not need any extra files to run abrosia unless you want to add your own shop list. If you make your own list, you are going to want to make it on a notepad file.

    Welcome and good luck

Yeah, Leaf summed it up very well indeed. (+rep) I was too lazy to help but its great to see someone FINALLY using the search feature! +rep for you too for using your brain first :) Welcome to Neocodex too, by the way. Keep asking questions as well though out and presented as this one and you'll go far here.

    Thank you Leaf! ^^
And thanks everyone else :p haha

I never changed the theme on neopets so I guess it's fine then.
About the shops, I just put shop numbers I want to buy from, right? Then it buys random stuff (or from a list, like you mentioned)... I guess I'll have to practice this and leave the default settings.
Should I start with user shops or main shops? Can I set the limit prices and profits?
For example: I want to buy items up to 10k cost, and so that I'll make profit up to 5k. (?)
[Oh and I have my own shop already, pretty big size but uh... useless items I guess.]

And about the items list, as a beginner should I but random items or make a specific list (after taking some time to do a research :o""" )?

leaf pretty much sums it up.

as for the basic theme area, i have been using multiple plot themes for more then a year without any issues. i would say the basic theme means none-premium as it would result to ssw etc etc?

or perhaps there isnt any issue anyways.

if you put the shop number, you have to use a manual list or It would not buy anything at all.

Advance member would be able to select the shop numbers and it buy "random stuff"

abrosia is a Main shop autobuyer. so only buy from main shops. it would buy items such as books that can be sold for 5k for a low price of 200np maybe?

Usershop snipers work another way, they buy items like code stones that cost 5k from shops that sell it for 4k. meant to pick out underpriced goods etc.

Set the profits to 2.5k would be good. but it would depends on what shop you are at. for instance, clothing isnt worth for me to set at 2.5k, i find the items incredibly hard to sell and i have to mark down significantly to get it sold. But 2.5k would be good for shops such as food, chocolate, bakery (consumables). dont bother so much about cost for now, 10k cost items are rare unless you are going to some specific shops

I would say just use the random items and random shop features now, once you are more accustomed to it and wishes to get more profits, then go ahead and make a manual list

This is weird, as I have always used the Puzzle adventure theme and ABed without any problems. :o

Really, Abrosia can handle any of the normal themes (birthday, puzzle adventure, treasure keepers, halloween, valentine's day, etc. etc.). What it CAN'T handle is the Premium Portal. I am pretty sure this is what the FAQ's are referring to, they just word it in a weird way. You are not stuck with the basic yellow theme if you want to use Abrosia.

I can second that. I have used Abrosia with most of old plot themes and purple one, had no problems either.

    Thanks Zandra.

So for now I should use the random shops and items buyer, with a low profit? (It randoms in main shops or user shops? And how to I avoid the clothes, magic, weapon shops?)

It randoms in main shops. (msab = main shop autobuyer)
You can't choose what shops if you aren't advanced though (unless you are using a list), so just run it and it will switch shops on its own after ~45mins on default settings.

If you want to avoid a particular shop you can close and restart program manager when it's at that shop.

But it's such a pain stopping in on a shop I don't want it to enter... And if I stop it will probably or start from beginning of the shop list and won't continue, or will try to search that same shop again O_o"... Help?

I don't think its random, I remember waser saying it chooses from a pool of the most profitable shops so you won't get put in a dead shop and most profitable doesn't mean shops with highest profit items so you won't get stamps or magic.

I can't remember exactly what the post is and I don't feel like searching for it.

The best bet is to use a list to AB in a single shop which suits you.

So is it going through main shops like books and pharmacy, and not really entering the magic, weapon and stamps shops?

    Edit:
So I should manually pick the main shops, right?

I was bored and went looking for his post to find out

I've found it to be pretty infrequent that I get put into a really unprofitable shop anyway. :)

Yeah it's programmed so that the shop selection isn't completely random but is based upon the number of profitable items in each shop, so it's more likely to choose shops with more profitable items in rather than just ending up in any rubbish shop all the time. :p And as you said it's better for the database so we appreciate if people do that so it'll make the database better for everybody. ;)

Manually picking the shop would mean you have to make a list and keep it fairly updated, if its something like chocolate or books you can stop and start and use the itemDB instead of a list.

If you do want to use a list or the shop you want to AB in is not in the pool of random shops, make your own and don't use someone else's; it might be out of date.

Ok, I guess I'll create shop lists and item lists after I try the current Neodex shops list. I picked some book shops and food shops for now, I hope this will be a nice start, after experimenting a little I think I'll understand things more.
Thank you and I hope to get to it quick =)

I'll bookmark this thread since it's very useful for a start...

    And now... to AB! xD
