I'm a student, I wish I was a superhero...

I currently work as a contract System Administrator for multiple businesses (I work at a company that takes on contracts for multiple small - medium range businesses, and then they assign me 5 businesses to work, and I monitor each of them, administer them as needed).

My dream job consists of many different things.

I want to be an astronaut above everything in the world. That is my ultimate dream.
I also want to be an inventor
I want to be an engineer that works on cpu chips
I want to be a lawyer that defends the technology world from copyright bullshit
I want to be a CIO
I want to be a Computer Security Consultant (I already had then job for over a year before the company was sold and I had to find a new job. There are no more CSC companies in my town, gotta move before I can do that again)
I want to be a Systems Engineer.

That would actually be a really cool job...there was a job posting this semester for a junior engineer for Xilinx in San Diego, if I was willing to relocate I would've loved to apply.

As for the astronaut: least realistic but coolest job on the list =P

Dream job for me I wasn't really ever sure on.
Like the idea of owning my own cafe/bake shop some day maybe.

It is; I'm blonde. What's your degree for? Maybe that would have tied all that together in my head better.

Do you need education to become a chef? I thought you just needed to go on some sort of course at a culinary school Posted Image

Also, what kind of chef, a gourmet cooking chef or a restaurant chef or a tv chef or what? :)

I don't have a job at the moment (wooo being a NEET! :p ), but my dream jobs are getting paid for staying at home doing nothing or being a mapper for Game Freak ^^   I absolutely love making maps for Pokemon games, especially routes!

This is an almost complete map (cropped) I made for the game Pokemon V! Just need to change the flower tiles and do some things to the ground grass and it'll be done :D

Currently I'm a full-time student going to become a radiologic technologist. After I graduate I hope to specialize further to do radiation therapy, and eventually a teaching or research position in that field.

Currently a student. Will be an actuary.

Prime gold-digging targets, the both of you :p

I currently work at a Japanese supermarket in Manhattan. In May I start training for the Navy, where I'll work on Nuclear Submarines.

My dream job is to be a private investigator/bounty hunter/badass for hire.

I wanted to be a fighter pilot and join the Air Force when I was younger too. Then my mom got pissed.

Why'd your mom get pissed? My mother was angry when I enlisted also, and her argument is she didn't want her little boy to move away. Apparently me living on my own for 3 years doesn't count as moving away.

Would getting LASIK help you achieve that goal? I mean, if I got LASIK I could get almost 20/20 vision back (or so they tell me). If the only thing holding you back was that, then it's something that I'd consider.

I don't believe so but I have not asked my recruiter about it. I've actually never thought about doing so. If that would be allowed there is a good chance I'd get the procedure done. My grandfather, father and uncle were in the AF and all of them were able to be pilots. My brother, the oddball of the family decided to become a Marine. Thanks for bringing that up!

Current Job? Managing a team of supervisors and agents to push results and make my call center lots of $$$.

    Dream Job? Astronaut.

More realistic dream job? Doing cryptography for the NSA.

Realistic job that I'll likely end up taking after completely finishing uni? Actuary or Teacher.

Even more realistic outlook? I'll still be working the same burned out fucking job that I'm currently at.... just a bit higher up the food chain than tier 2 management.

There are two disciplines in that field. Cryptography, which is analysis and design of schemes. Then there's the part which the NSA will probably demand your expertise in, which is cryptanalysis, that is, finding weaknesses in and breaking schemes. The theory behind each one is closely coupled with statistics, probability, number theory, numerical analysis and much more. I'm taking an intro to cryptography course this semester and it is without a doubt the hardest course I've ever taken. >_< But it's very rewarding when you find yourself getting questions right and understanding things.

If you're interested stanford is offering a free online course on cryptography:

Currently student, 1st year engineering. Dream job: doctor, I have this need to keep up with stereotypes about my people. Realistically, doing decently well in engineering so I'll probably end up as an engineer, may consider law eventually.

Seems like I remember one of my Air Force friends not being able to pilot even with LASIK. Something about eyeballs exploding at high altitudes?

Ideal dream job: Earning big bucks progamming applications.
Dream job that most likely won't pay much: Cat sitter.
