Here's a few that he thought of that were taken

Can you guys come up with something that maybe is not taken? I would appreciate it, get creative, make up words just need something catchy.

Thanks!

How can you set up a marketing company, when you can't even think of a way to brand your own company!?

I would suggest not using cliche names that convey little meaning, but that's just my opinion

Is this going to be primarily an online venture, or a real physical company?

Name it "The (His Last Name) Marketing Group," and let the tagline be his 'something catchy'

Putting the word marketing in your marketing company is bourgeois.

Agreed. You should think of something short, brandable.

    Also, your target market matters.

If you're marketing to local B&Ms, then you don't want something too flashy.
If you're trying to net larger accounts, then make sure you're chic and brandable.

    Ocean Marketing

I kid! :) (I wonder who gets that joke?)

Anyways. Putting Marketing in the URL helps with google ranking, but doesn't help with people recognizing your name brand. I would suggest taking a name with marketing, but branding yourself as something else

Eg, branding yourself as a name and taking that domain name, but also taking a marketing name. This draws people to you, but also allows them to access you by your actual name.
