I never saw the original series with Johnny Depp on TV but I like Jonah Hill so I bought the 2012 film adaptation the other day. I wasn't expecting much out of Channing Tatum because of stuff like Dear John but I was really presently surprised by how funny this film was, and how good him and Jonah Hill were together. Dave Franco also gave a great performance as the 'bad guy'.

There were a lot of laugh out loud moments, and some good quotes "Stop fucking with Korean Jesus! He ain't got time for your promblems" I'd give it 4/5 :D

Have you seen it? If so, did you like it?

If not, what's the best comedy film you've seen recently?

I concur, 4/5. The laughs per minute ratio was very high.

Did you catch that subtle joke near the beginning where the chief talks about the program and how the people who came up with it "not the creative type" and basically just "rehash old programs from the 80's". I only heard a few people in the audience laugh at that one.

Get Him to the Greek from 2 years ago is probably the best comedy I've seen in the past 10 years. Better than Jumpstreet imo, you should see that one if you haven't.

The subtle jokes are the best ones :p Like in Avengers when Lokie called the black widow chick a "mewling quim" i.e. a whining cunt.

Something about comedy makes it that genre that's so hard to get right. But GHTTG and jump street did it perfectly.

MacGruber was also pretty funny, also Anchorman...now I'm just trying to list comedies in my head....

Get Him to the Greek, 21 Jumpstreet, and What's Your Number (with Anna Farris in it) are my three favorite comedies. I don't usually watch movies more than once, but they're so good.

I LOVED IT!! I had no idea Channing Tatum could have been that good. Jonah Hill was amazing. I loved it so much, I'll probably watch it again. There's another Jonah Hill movie out with Ben Stiller and Vince Vaughn, I've forgotten the name though. The trailer looked promising. That's going on my must watch list too this summer.

I used to watch the show but I haven't seen the movie yet. Everyone has told me that it was great, I just haven't gotten around to it. I will eventually though.

I watched it, thought it wasn't bad, better than I expected it to be. Not really a fan of Jonah Hill to be honest.

Recently saw American Reunion, I think there was more laugh out loud moments for me in that movie, Sean William Scott really is hilarious

Finally watched this movie and I thought it was really funny. I particularly like the scene in which they are on the drug. That was fucking hilarious/had me tripping for a minute... haha.
