I'm rooting for the Heat. I have been a dedicated Lebron fan for a long time, and my husband watched him play back when Lebron was in High School.
I am sick of people saying they don't want Lebron to win a championship.. dafuq does it matter if he left a shit team and joined a good one.. guys got a family and future to think about.. he made the best possible decision for him at that moment.

Anyone watching the Thunder versus the Heat?

Then you are just plain and simple an asshole.
Lebron has been voted MVP over the heads of everyone else three times now. That means he outperformed everyone else. Even if it wasn't always scoring, he definitely.made a huge impact on his team.
The fact that you are actively rooting for him to not win a championship (For what reason? He doesn't deserve it? Despite the fact that hundreds of people who score 2 points or less have won them?) just shows that you are a jerk. Nothing has he ever done that says "This guy shouldn't be allowed to win a championship, he just plain sucks".
I personally don't want Fisher to get his 6th ring before Kobe. Kobe carried fisher to those 5 rings.
And you are wrong about the fouls. I recorded every good and bad foul call, and the foul calls were insanely close (unlike the first game). The refs did a pretty good job this game, and out of the 7 missed foul calls, 4 of them were hard as hell to tell even with us going back and rewatching them over and over. No way a ref could make that call properly on the court.
Every team in the world simply thinks that the team that they are rooting for is getting bad calls,a dn the other team is getting carried.
Anyone watching the Thunder versus the Heat?

I agree; I'm not a big fan of any team in any sport which has too much talent. I'd rather the Heat, Packers, UK Wildcats, etc. all lose to the underdog. The Thunder are an awesome team imo, which really flew under the radar for the most part up until this postseason. Their fans are crazy and their players play hard and with heart, not to mention Harden is a beast as a background kinda guy. I don't follow the NBA too much, but I have been watching the past month or so and I'm already pulling for the Thunder because of all these reasons. Down with Wade-Bosh-James!
Edit: Which reminds me, the year the Giants upset the Pats in the Superbowl. That's where it's at.
Essentially, you watch games to see people who suck beat people who don't suck?
The Thunder actually have a better team then the heat. They are younger and faster, and durant is a much much much better scorer then anyone on the heats team. The heat have an insane inside game, but a shit outside game. They wont last night because battier was doing his best possible performance from the 3 point line, and because Lebron and Wade continued to attack the basket. In game one, Wade played like a retard and took jumpshots. He failed to attack the basket and create space, and so he lost them the game.
If you watch westbrook. In the 3 and 4th quarter, he did an insane job. He drove in time and time again, scoring over and over and never gave up. If you look at wade, he took more then jump shots then he did driving, even though he only made 2 scores off jump shots in the beginning of the game. Durant was just fucking insane. If he keeps this up, he could become the next kobe. He has consistently hitting threes, even contested ones.
I'm rooting for the Heat. I have been a dedicated Lebron fan for a long time, and my husband watched him play back when Lebron was in High School.

I agree that no one has a reason to say Lebron doesn't deserve to win a championship. Anyone who can score over 30 points a game, deserves a shot at a championship.
In the last game. Lebron and Durant score the same. Lebron had 8 rebounds to Durant 3, and 5 assists to Durant's 1. How come Durant deserves to win this but Lebron doesn't?
Fisher had 2 rebounds and 2 points. Why the fuck does he deserve a 6th championship ring and lebron doesn't deserve anything?
For me. I'm loving this series (atleast, the last game). The first game I hated, because coming back from half time, we watched 4 horrible foul calls go in favor of the Thunder, and that changed the pace of the game way to much. In the second game, the foul calls were close, and the play in the last quarter got serious. The heat started out strong, and that made them tired in the last quarter. Durant and Westbrook exploded. I love watching westbrook play in the last quarter. He is insanely clutch and pulls out everything to score. I found myself more then once cheering for his excellent shooting. Watching Durant just swish contested threes made me smile. Battier played better then anyone could have hoped for, helping to offset durants insane scoring. Even wade didn't disappoint me, with an excellent cut across the middle for a basket.
Overall, game 2 was excellent. I hope the rest of the games are played like that,
Oh. and Harden had an wonderful game. The thunder would have failed if it wasn't for his amazing performance.

Its been an amazing series so far, and people that whine about foul call going one way or the other just simply aren't appreciating the magic thats being played out right now.
And the Lebron hates really needs to fucking stop. He's probably the second best player this generation will ever see (assuming they were around for Jordan), and its really fucking sad that people have bought so easily into the media hype that is hate Lebron. The guy is a class act, did what EVERYONE had been preaching for fucking years, that is, forgo the money, don't be selfish, and play to win instead of playing for yourself. And people just invent reasons one way or another to hate him anyways.

Thunder aren't underdogs.
As far as teams who were talked about winning the entire thing when the playoffs began? They weren't far ahead of Philly. Until they had proven themselves more, they were already written off for the most part. I would say it didn't change much until they came back after falling behind to the Spurs.
Essentially, you watch games to see people who suck beat people who don't suck?
I just would rather see the unexpected happen. If the teams who were better and more popular and more talented won in almost every case, it wouldn't make for much drama or excitement. I'd rather the Patriots get upset in the Superbowl than become the first NFL team to go undefeated in a 16-game regular season with an all-star team that simply destroys every team it faces. I'd rather the Yankees end up losing the world series after going ahead 3-0 and breaking Boston's curse than the Redsox simply losing as they apparently were "meant to". That's just the sort of thing I root for. As far as the Heat and Thunder, I think that at the beginning of these playoffs the Heat were more a favorite than the Thunder, by far. The Heat have been seen as a superior team to most for the past two years. I want them to lose. Don't get me wrong, it's nothing against Lebron. The guy is an animal. I'm not saying he's bad or anything, in fact I'm saying quite the opposite. I want him to lose because he's incredible, and everyone (who has a brain) knows it. The same goes for Wade, he plays a big part. And I suppose Bosh can't be overlooked; he comes through for them big occassionally.

No. The thunders were talked about. A LOT.
The spurs on the other hand. They were completely and utterly ignored. They won 21 games in a row, 10 of them being playoffs. They never got the attention they deserved. When the Spurs vs Thunder games started again, the Thunder got all of the talk. The spurs have been left in the dark. Why didn't you root for them?
Even now. The Thunder have all of the talk. And they are the ones favored to win the games. Even by me. I don't think Wade will perform how the needs to. Wades been choking hardcore, while westbrook as been dominating. You should root for the heat, not for the thunder. The thunder are a younger and more talented team.

I actually am not a Heat fan and really want the Bulls to beat them. But i feel LBJ has tried for so so long he desrves to win. And win in a fashion that proves he's the better of the two top players. KD v LBJ. Thunder are bunch of punk kids that only worked 3 years on it. LBJ worked so long and had his youth stolen by the Cavs not getting the right pieces around him.Anyone watching the Thunder versus the Heat?
I personally don't want to see LeBron win a championship yet and the referees in my opinion are favoring the Heat. Good series though and tough matchups all around.
So I want LBJ to win it now cuz the Bulls wont let them get another chance next year and on.

Please. Next year is Tim Duncan's final championship, ending his career on a high note before a much deserved retirement. So I want LBJ to win it now cuz the Bulls wont let them get another chance next year and on.
I see that you are all getting very technical about talent. Here's where I'm torn... I find Kevin Durant very attractive but I find Chris Bosh equally hilarious.
LeBron's not a bad guy. Sometimes you have to leave home to get what you want. And he was hilarious on SNL. Too bad about the premature baldness, though.
Yeah. I wouldn't be mad whoever wins. To be honest, the agony of the defeat of the Spurs is still with me and all I feel is hopelessness. My whole life is a dark room. One. Big. Dark. Room.

Traitor's a pretty strong word sir :C If memory serves me well, Lebron didn't want to play for Cleveland. He was unfortunate enough to get drafted into the Cavaliers, a team that he had no intention in playing for. When his contract ended he simply moved onto bigger and better things. No offense to people in Cleveland but that place is 3rd world when compared to Miami. He was also consistent in saying that winning is what's most important to him, so what better place to make that come true than with Miami? I believe that if you were in his shoes you would undoubtedly make the same decision. The only disrespectful thing he did was leave Cleveland without properly thanking his fans but that's no reason to call him a traitor :c

Well, coming from someone who was completely unbiased coming into the postseason, hardly watched any NBA at all, had no favorite team in the sport whatsoever, I listened in and followed during the playoffs and heard myself the least about the Thunder. It seemed to me that the Spurs were getting plenty of hype as they picked up momentum going into second round. And of course the Heat were talked about all season long, even when you don't watch NBA you hear everything about them through ESPN SportsCenter, PTI, Around The Horn, etc.

No. Cleveland failed him. and failed him hardcore.
In the season before Lebron James join their team. They had the third-worst record in franchise history. THIRD WORST IN THE HISTORY OF THE NBA. And what did james do? Playoffs. Playoffs. Playoffs. FINALS. All through fucking james. He carried the team hard as fucking hell. He gave them 7 years to get a team that they could win with. They failed to do that. They wanted him to do 100% of the work 100% of the time. That's the shittiest thing that you can ever do for a person. They screwed him over hardcore, and failed to build a team that could work with him to a victory. Lebron did the only thin respectable, he told them to stop using him and went to someone else.

Your logic just makes no sense.
First, you established that you like the unbeatable, favored teams to lose. Then you associate this with the premise that the Heat are an "unbeatable, favored" team. News flash, they were 2nd seed in the East coming into the playoffs and virtually every sports analyst out there wrote in the 2nd half of the season that they clearly were not invincible.
Then on a less implied yet still pretty obvious scale to anyone with a brain, you said that you "want the talented team to lose" to make it dramatic or exciting. Thunder entered the playoffs at 2nd seed in the West, with an even better overall record than the East. If any, you should be seeing the Thunder as better rather than whatever the media feeds your brain with (The Invincible Big 3 of Lebron, Wade and Bosh). At the very least you should see the Thunder and Heat equally matched.
Why do you think all the writers are saying this is gonna shape up to be a great Finals?
Just no, no, no. Everything you said was predicated on completely misconstrued premises.

Wrong. I simply stated they were the favored team. They were the team to beat all season long. Everyone was talking about the Heat and their expectations. They aren't invincible, they aren't unbeatable, they're simply the host team to a 3x NBA MVP in James for 3 of the past 4 years and Wade whose accomplishments can't be overlooked either. Not to mention the supporting cast. There is a big reason why if the Heat fail to win a championship this year, the entire team's players' jobs are in jeopardy, except Lebron's for obvious reasons. This is because they are supposed to win. No one thought it even possible that they could fail to take a championship. They aren't unbeatable . They aren't invincible. They're just expected to win. They're favored. That is why I want them to lose.

It still rubs me the wrong way the way he spurned Cleveland. Cleveland as a city treated him like a god and in return, he decides to create a giant media scandal and televise his leaving of Cleveland in the most pompous way possible. On top of that, Miami throws a celebration of a championship before they even deserved to win anything. On top of that, I think LeBron's actually embraced the villain role. And call me selfish, but I think it's been great for NBA ratings because there's been a "good" versus "evil" storyline thrown into the mix and the more LeBron doesn't win, the more intrigue in the NBA as Lebron continues to chase that ring. You can't deny it's been fun seeing everyone hate on Lebron as he still chases that ring.
And lastly, I'm a fan of team basketball and I was rooting for the Spurs to win until they lost to the Thunder. I do think the Thunder as an overall unit are a better team than the Heat and I also really dislike Dwyane Wade's game and constant crying to the refs. Just my 2 cents.
Oh, and I know sports are a "heated" subject (haha), but it'd be nice if we could avoid the insults. Sports forums have enough trolls doing that as it is, but nice discussion and you're helping me understand why my friend from home loves Lebron so much.

there is a huge difference between being favored to win, and being the best.
The Heat are favored to win because they have Lebron james. Lebron James is one of the most talked about stars since he was drafted. Everyone expected great things from him, and cleveland stole that from him. Now that he left Cleveland and joined a team that already had playoffs chances, they expect him to be godlike. They expect that since he finally has a team that can actually do something, he will be better then jordan, better then magic, better then all of them. The problem only comes down to Wade choking and losing Lebron a championship he deserves.
Did you watch the Heat vs Pacers games? Heat vs Celtics games? Where he played EVERY SINGLE MINUTE OF THE GAME. and still scored over 30 points and 30 rebounds? That is why he is talked about. That is why everyone expects him to win. The thunder though, they have people all around who can outscore everyone else. Westbrook doesn't choke like wade does. His 3 and fourth quarter games insane to watch. Durant is the next kobe when it comes to clutch shots I believe. The thunder have the better team. The heat have Lebron. Which will win them the series?
I never said that I didn't want LeBron to win a championship because I didn't think he deserved it. I've seen him carry his team on his back over and over again, in Cleveland as he's doing in Miami.

Could lebron have handled his departure better? Of course. I could have handled my departure from the programming team better too. Everyone makes mistakes. Cleveland treated him like a god, just like ANY team would have treated him like a god. Cleveland especially did it because they were last place before they got him. He was a sign of a change that they desperately needed. And he gave them 7 years. He put his heart into 7 years, and finally he had enough. Cleveland failed to sign on anyone at all during that period that Lebron could rely on to help him win a championship. When it was time for a free agent status, Miami wanted to pick him up. They offered him a team that already had playoff chances. That had an excellent wade and bosh, and just needed someone to head up the team to make it a power house. No one knows how much time he took, or how hard it was to make the decision. Maybe his conference sucked so much because it was so hard from him to do it in the first place? All we know is that he gave everything to cleveland and got nothing in return. They have no right ot be mad or upset at him. This is his life, and he only has one to give.
How fucked up would i t be for the greatest nba player in all time to stick to a team and never win a championship, ever? (I'm not saying Lebron is, I'm just saying, think of that concept"). In Basketball. The ring is what matters. Everyone laughs at lebron because he doesn't have a ring. The only person I would ever rate over Lebron is Kobe, and that is because Kobe still plays great, even with being fouled 100% of the time (Just go back and watch the playoffs. He was grabbed, held, and touched every single second. even if the ball as a mile away, the guy always had full contact with him) For a person to score 30+ points in a game while that is happening. Give him credit. I would put Lebron there second, because every team does one single thing when Lebron is playing. Protect the paint. Watch his drives,a nd after he finishes. EVERY thunder player is inside, trying to stop him. AND THEY CAN'T. Lebron is one of the most fouled players that gets fouls not called on him. This is because hes strong and fast. He just breezes past the punches and pushed and drops it in like it was nothing. So the guy who hit him on the shoulder doesn't get a foul because the ref was like "Well, Lebron didn't flinch, must have been a soft touch" And yet he attacks the basket and makes it, over and over and over again. Its sexy to watch, even if you hate him and don't want to admit it.
Lebron needs atleast a single ring so he will be remembered int he future. He deserves at least that much for his level of play. Even on Cleveland (The worst team in the nba). He scored 20+ points a game, with high rebounds and assists. Give him a ring so people will remember him for being good. Derick fisher is a horrible fucking player, and he has 6 rings. Give Lebron something to reward him for carrying cleveland all the way to the finals. There is no reason in hell say he doesn't deserve it. He deserved it every single year that he played for Cleveland, and it was Cleveland who took it from him. Cleveland doesn't deserve a championship victory, Lebron does.

At this point he might be remembered more if he never won a ring. It'd be much more astonishing that way if you ask me.
