I'm new around these parts, and was hoping I could get some help/tips restocking the old fashioned way, as well as some help price checking some ancient HTS items that are mostly out of the system by now. I'll probably need some help if I'm ever going to save up and get my hands on them in any reasonable timeframe, and look forward to getting along with you all =D.

Welcome and could you elaborate by what you mean the restocking the old fashioned way? Normally for legit restocking, people just refresh at shops until they see a good item and they purchase it. Beginner restockers usually start on shops like food and books.

Some of the people on neopets have very good guides for legit restocking (as that's what I'm going to assume you mean by the "old fashioned way".

A web search for "neopets restocking guides" will bring up some good ones.
