One of the intrinsic flaws in this argument, by the way, is comparing the selling of goods by main shops to the state or to a firm. It isn't either. These goods aren't financed, limited, no one makes a profit from them, and no one has a loss by selling them (while in main shops). They spontaneously appear for people to take them (or not take them). TNT doesn't collect neopoints when you pay for these goods. No one does. They are, essentially, a natural law in production within a system. Just like saying that a seed will eventually grow into a crop you can harvest. Shops restocking aren't a state measure, they are a "natural"phenomenon.

Fact of the matter is the fact that you're being confrontational and obtuse.

Maybe instead of getting defensive you could learn what is causing the negative response from the community and curb your behavior before you cause irrefutable damage to your public opinion.

I made an argument that was pertinent to the discussion at hand. Fact is, main shops do not work like a public or private firm. That's the argument. How people feel about me, your whining about me, or any other personal attack on me is irrelevant and fallacious and I will not revise my argument just because people happen to dislike it.

So, yeah, fuck curbing my behaviour. You're the one provoking spam in the thread by making it a conversation about me.

Main shop restocking is basically arbitrage.

In a sense... what I'm saying is that shops restock to their own internal algorithm. I'd compare it more to mining since you're harvesting resources that naturally occur in the world you're in. I mean the Neopian "state" isn't selling you nor giving you something, they don't make a profit in neopoints or even "hold" these items. They don't collect these items. These items just appear in main shops and become part of the formal Neopian economy once they do.

It's hard to explain because you "pay" for these items but Imagine a MMORPG. Imagine that in this MMORPG, there's a piece of land where a sword is restocked every two hours. The stock just appears because the MMORPG gods want it to appear there. Every two hours you can pick up the sword, go back to the city, and sell it for a price. The sword appearing there isn't an economic phenomenon in the sense that it is natural. You can plant a tree and sell its fruits, but the tree growing and yielding fruits is something that happens naturally. That's how the world happens to function. When a seed is put underground and the soil is watered and exposed to sunlight, that seed grows into a plant. That's just how we know the cookie crumbles. We take advantage of that process, but that process is independent to us. The things that are independent to the players of an economy are the natural laws they must submit to and exploit.

TNT aren't so much as a state as they are gods, dictating how a system with its own internal logic functions. They serve the function of a state when they ban people for cheating, the economy itself (the distribution of goods) is largely in the hands of the players.
