did you use a brush in PS to make those stroke like textures that are on the clouds/ground or did that come in terragen?

i am not sure about the strokes since they make the picture seem a little flat, especially the sky, but you did a great job with the rest ^_^

reminds me somewhat of mars :)

Correct me if I'm wrong but I think those strokes are from using topaz. This looks nice, really like the colours. Would be cool if you replaced the sky with a dark/gloomy looking one but that's just personal preference.

    What is terragen 2?

Thanks :) Iced is right, that's cause of topaz. I'll post up the original render from terragen soon :)

    What is terragen 2?

I know it needs more work, just wanted to post to get some feedback so far.

    I'll quote from the website:

Terragenâ„¢ 2 is a powerful solution for rendering and animating realistic natural environments. Create entire worlds from your imagination, or import real world terrain datasets and use Terragen 2 to create the most realistic visualisations possible. You control the weather, landscape, rivers, lakes and oceans, suns, moons and stars. With Terragen 2 you have complete control over the shader networks used for terrains, textures, micropolygon displacements, clouds and object distributions.

I used the first one, but never tried the second version until now and it seems so much better! I can't wait to get to know how it works better. :)

That's pretty neat Sarah. Might have to have a go at Terragen myself.

oh, i have no idea what topaz is ^_^

the last time i used terragen was about 9 years ago.. i think they were still on version 1.1 or 1.2

i do think it looks better without the strokes though

Topaz is a photoshop plugin. There's quite a few different ones but the one that creates that effect is Topaz clean.

That's really cool. I quite like the panoramic look/feel.

What kind of colour correcting do you do in PS after exporting from Terragen?

That second one is 2 curves layers, brightness/contrast a photofilter and a brushed layer set to color/68% opacity. :p

love the edits, they look like they're from a videogame :o
for the first one though, the lines look too sharpened & not detailed enough in my eyes

Thank you! Working on getting the quality looking better overall, as well as different looks to them.

Here's the same terrain as in number 2, but a different version with a little more post-work in PS.

This. Is. Amazing. Excellent work, this really makes me want to pick up Photoshop. Did you learn to do this yourself? Or did you use any guides / take any classes?

Your work isn't perfect, but it's close to that. But the last one... I didn't like the water at all. It is as if something is missing.
