We've been operating the site for 9 years, and have not heard more than a peep from them. The only issue we have ever encountered with them involved someone we were hosting. If we are violating copyright, we should have received something by now. Many other sites have.

We've also taken steps to protect ourselves in the case of legal litigation. Being prepared does not imply guilt, but is a responsible thing to do in this day and age, since we do sell products and handle personal information.

Don't be naive, I'm sure coltom knows better than us.

The fact that my test account has not been banned in over 2 months of usage shows how much TNT really cares about cheaters right now :p

I think they really only worry about cheating that's obvious enough to the casual observer that it gets reported. Programs just give them more pageviews to report to advertisers--they probably actually like Neocodex.

They do most of their monitoring on the Neoboards, actually. Think about it: What's more dangerous to the company--a few hundred thousand pageviews from bots, or a single "child meets pedo online" scandal? Or, for that matter, a single instance of "asswipe 16-year-old e-mails picture of his junk to some kid he met on Neopets"? Keeping Neopets looking "kid-friendly" is their number-one priority. They have never been, and will never be, worried about cheating that isn't obvious enough to make people complain about unfairness. With most of the unfairness coming from the fact that some people are adults with no life and high-speed Internet, while others are eight-year-olds allowed to play half an hour a day on dial-up, there's really no reason for them to address cheating in any more than a very cursory way. Addressing cheating wouldn't remove the unfairness from the game; it would only cause them to lose those extra pageviews.

There's no way they'd freeze you just for using NeoCodex, since technically someone COULD be on this forum and not actually cheating. They aren't going to expend the effort to track down possible cheaters (especially if they don't have proof) when I'm sure they have their hands full tracking down actual cheaters with their own back-end scripts.

Common sense does not apply here. And it's more the creepy stalking for account names that some of the more obsessive legit users do, than TNT themselves.
