things are not always black and white. Sometimes we do things because they feel good, despite our better judgment.I find it unsettling that we're all supposed to be indifferent to mods breaking the rules as much as regular members.
Aren't you supposed to be setting the example?

The point is that it's infrequent. You should be concerned if the number is high, but staff are people, not flawless paragons of virtue.

I am speaking for myself here, but it would be odd to have mods who broke the rules as much as regular members.
Defeats the purpose of having moderators if anything, so you can see why I asked.

Okay, fair enough.
I was just curious, that's all.

To be fair, the majority of members don't break rules very frequently either.

Even after his departure, he's still pissing you guys off. Why are you gonna let some guy on the internet get under your skin?
If it was obvious that he was only here to incite anger, why not ignore him like most of us did? It's not difficult to do.

You have to consider that our volunteer mods are practically leading a double life what with their real life and the children on this site. We should want them to be relatable not infallible. Sometimes they are led astray but their responsibilities give them a wake up call to return to their posts. No shit.
Thank you for enlightening me.
The point isn't that humans make mistakes, it's that Mods have their title for a reason.
They have been chosen to enforce a set of rules and maintain a level of harmony among the users.
If they are breaking the rules equally as much, that defeats the purpose of having them. Occasional blips are inevitable.

A business doesn't owe its customers anything? You may have balls, but no brains.
Posted 04 October 2012 - 08:28 AM
To be fair I think the mods do a good job.
However they are only human, mistakes will be made from time to time.
If everyone keeps arguing with each other then khaligula has won.
Can't we all just get along?
Buy advanced then feel free to complain that you are a customer unsatisfied with the performance of staff.
If anything, most (with the obvious exceptions) advanced members complained about him.
If we judge this strictly by whether or not Advanced members wanted him banned, he would have been banned AGES ago.
Simple as that. You have no right to complain.
