So recently I was given an older account that is 27 months of age and I'm wanting to use this as my "side". I've read over the neopets side account rules but I'm wondering if I could get away with this. My new main account is only 3 weeks old so I'm unable to AB good rares. I'm not going to open a shop on the old account or sell on it either just give items to my new once they have been bought. Let's say I do all of my buying on the side and none on the main. Is that considered breaking the rules? Technically it wouldnt be buying on two accounts so that isn't breaking the rules.

Technically, yes. Whatever account you decide as your main account is the only one you can buy things on. If you AB on one account, it would have to be your main and not your side. So, if you want to play games or have a shop on the three week old account, doing anything on the side would be considered cheating.

Of course, none of this really matters since 1) You're cheating anyway and 2) they're not gonna find out.

Yeah, what Blueberry said. Since you're using an AB, these rules don't matter much to you anyways. But yeah, you can't buy stuff on one and play games on another. As long as you don't advertise that it's you're side, though, you won't get iced. For all TNT knows that's a family member who uses the same computer as you.

Hmmmm. Personally, I wouldn't risk it. I always thought any funds and items were supposed to go from your main to your side, not the other way around. I can't see TNT taking the subject of someone using a side to take advantage of the age priveledges lightly.

Obviously the rules matter to them to some extent as they wouldn't be asking this question in the first place if they disregarded them completely. If you'd like to keep your accounts safe, I'd reccomend doing all your dirty work on one (unless if you plan on using a proxy for the other, of course) and keeping activity between the two limited.

I think what we meant (at least what I meant) is that if you're ABing then it doesn't matter whether or not it's against the rules. You're already breaking them by ABing, and even if it WAS an A-okay thing to do (restocking on a side, games on a main) TNT would still nab both accounts when they see the AB goods being transferred anyways.
