I use a  free proxy to run Abrosia but I have a feeling it is slowing down everything because I literally had about 40 consecutive misses.

Do you guys use proxies when running the ABer, and if so, do you pay for them?

I think paid proxies are the only way to go - the free ones are usually used by 100 different chinese spam companies, and this causes major slowdowns to the point where most don't function.

Yep, there's actually programs that go through websites that post free proxies- and they use them to do whatever nefarious stuff they need them for.

Paid proxies are good.  I usually do ~2-6 accounts per proxy and haven't been frozen yet.  Avg price is $1-$2 per proxy.  Closer to $1 the more you buy.

You can also buy proxies that are used by other people, but maximum 4-5 other people.  I think they're cheaper, but then again you're risking people downloading porn or whatever- making them possibly slow.

You can also use Amazon's free 1 year VPS.

That might interest some people too, free VPNs apparently. I can't comment on the quality of it though since I haven't tried it myself.

i use proxyblaze partly cause they were the cheapest (still decent proxies), they used to have a promo for 20% off, but now that's ended.

A VPS is basically the same as a proxy except rather than just getting an IP you get an actual system to run programs on (like using another computer in a different location).

    Whoa that sounds expensive O_o

But sounds pretty cool too. I might give that a look if I'm actually serious about ABing. I'm kinda sick of seeing all the misses -_-

I found that requesting proxies from a specific region (near cali) helps tremendously.

Oh yeah, that's true. I heard somewhere that the closer you are to the Neopets server, the faster it is?

I always try to search for US proxy lists.

Yes, it round trip time is partially dependent on proxy location.  It's the only factor you can control, so you might as well get one closer if u can.
