And by that, I mean a game you know is bad, but you love it and play it anyway.

For me, I'd have to say it's a game called Champion Jockey: G1 Jockey and Gallop Racer.  It's a horse racing simulation game where you act as a jockey and are required to win races to gain titles, and can also breed, train, and race your own horses.  It's a Japanese made game, so parts of it are extremely silly... A lot of "jockey drama" with side characters and what not.  The graphics are kinda cringe-worthy, but since I was always a horse racing fan growing up, I get a lot of enjoyment out of it.

What about you guys?  Any games you keep in your closet of shame?

Oh dear. I have a few, one is a dating sim game (it's all text, since it was created on the internet), so no graphics. Guilty pleasure because it's odd to be playing a dating sim game, and I have way to much fun with it.

The other is called HugPunx. You just go around hugging people and animals, and the graphics..well there aren't really any graphics. It's mainly pixels.

Since it's an internet game, I can link it, if you want to try it. (z is used to hug, and you can only hug things that are green. Arrow keys to move)

As for just guilty pleasure games (excluding graphics). Mine would be the Sims 3. I use my sims to live out my fantasies of being in an anime/move/whatever. Nothing odd, I just like creating characters from those things and shoving them into the sims world with my personal character. I guess that's "bad" because it's odd, and I'm using it for living out fantasies, which is extremely fun for me.

I really shouldn't be playing any of these ( because of graphics, and oddities, and my in-the-gutter-all-the-time mind) and I have no idea why I just told the internet about it.

I think it's funnier than it should be to me because not all the translations were done correctly, I think?  Everything just sounds so formal and there's some dialogue that's so confusing that I can just scratch my head and laugh.  Also, the "cutscenes" are done with drawings of jockeys popping up to talk to you or re-live past events, and all of it just plays out like a really bad soap opera.  Highly recommend.

@Satsuki:  I play the Sims's 3 for the same reasons.  I'd like to try and fill towns with my characters and have them all interact with each other.  I always did this one way of playing the game (I can't remember what it's called now), but the basic idea was that you started with one character on the biggest lot in the game with only a little bit of money.  You had to basically build your house up from the ground up through the generations.  You also had to have at least one child of the same gender of your character in order to continue playing.  (Let's say I started with a male;  I'd have to make him produce a son in order to keep playing the family, and then his son would have to have a son, etc etc.)  It was honestly a ton of fun, and I loved playing with making houses and decorations.  I understand the appeal, believe me!

I don't build my houses, I buy one in the beginning, use the "familyfunds" cheat, and buy the biggest house in the town. After that, I bought everything I could to build skills, and had fun mastering everything. My sims do have kids, but I have a thing for multiples in the games. One of my famines had 4 at once. All my fun comes from being able to control what my Sims do, and since I have myself in the game, I can interact with and control movie characters. (Tony Stark, Harry Potter...ect).

I tried building a house once, it got really complicated and I just used cheats and bought the biggest house. I redecorate the house though, and that's always fun.

    Maplestory.

By now it's nothing more than a cash grab by Nexon to rob every 13 year old of their parent's money so he/she can have +4627486234821 of every stat and do an extra 738463826% damage to bosses. Even though it's like this I'll keep going back every time they release a new character (which there's way too many of) and level it to about 100-120 and then stop playing again. It's usually by this level that I have to incorporate myself with the terrible community if I want to get any sort of progress done on my character.

I'm also guilty of using the Sims 3 to live vivaciously through them, or make some of my anime girls own pets and stuff.  It's pretty silly, but it's an excellent way to de-stress.

Pet sites in general are the crux of my guilty pleasures, though -- especially ones like Subeta, where I can manually restock mindlessly for hours at a time to give myself some breathing room in between my hectic lifestyle, haha.

Also, any game where I can make my team members or otherwise have names from favorite series of mine or the names of my friends tend to eat up at least days of my time when I first get my hands on them.

(Also, you know, revisiting games from my childhood -- like that horrible sandwich stacker game, or some of those Barbie games.)

    UH

    WURMONLINE

its an awful mmo in every single fucking way like its really bad don't even play it (you need to put a LOT of time and effort and money into it or know someone who you can leech off of just to even last for more than a few hours Out In The Wilderness and don't get me started on the gameplay and item creation thing and the bugs just kill me now)!!! But like, even though I really hate it there's something nice about logging in and doing the farming and saying hi to the neighbours and grooming your livestock and all~ ^^

I guess its a good thing that most of the community is really!! really nice too!! Sure there are some bad eggs but most of them are pretty cool~ <3

ALSO HAHAHAH CRIES LOOK AT THIS THING (spider warning)

Definitely sims 3. The biggest reason that I upgraded to a 1 TB hard drive is because my old (admittedly tiny) one was running out of room for expansion packs and custom content. I think I have a problem, but I NEED all those different couches and wallpapers for my houses, ya see?  :S

    And apparently now HugPunx.

I can't really say Neopets is my guilty pleasure game since I don't play anymore =/ I don't even plan to do the GameMasters Challenge at all. That'show bad it is for me.

If you count non video games as guilty pleasures, I LARP on occasion. I'm not much into plot roleplaying (although it's fun in huge groups and I would never do it in only one other person), but I love buffer challenges because I can think I'm killing a person without actually killing a person (unlike the previous cases...)

People still have time for games? <__<

We do. Sometimes it is called terrible prioritizing.

I converted someone? Good..very good. (my cousin originally showed me the game).

I don't download all the expansion packs, so my computer has quite a bit of room on the HD. I only get the ones I know I will use, such as supernatural, and the most recent one, into the future. Others I have no interest in, like world adventures or medieval.

And that's why I never get my homework done.

I keep telling myself not to get them because I don't need them, but I'm an idiot. When I kick the the bucket, I'll be more ashamed of someone seeing how much downloaded sims (and L4D) crap I have than finding my porn.

Neopets. I have to frantically close tabs if someone walks by while I'm playing.
