This was the first I'd heard of the book or movie:

But sad.. so very sad. I hope to read it soon.

    It weirds me out how much the lead actor resembles John Green.

    The book made me cry too much, not sure I can handle a film.

    I was personally friends with the girl that this was inspired by, so I am quite excited about the release of this movie.

    I love TFIOS and I think John Green did an amazing job telling the story that isnt about cancer, but that they have cancer.

    sigh it made me cry so much though

    I literally just made the connection between the name John Green (common name) and the guy who does Crash Course History on Youtube. I did not know he had written three or four novels.

    I might give a try to this book... It looks too boring, but the way you are talking about it makes me unsure.

    I want to watch this so bad but as a chick who cried when Marley died in Marley & Me I certainly won't be able to handle it ;.;

    No offense to anyone who loved this book, but was the most pretentious book I've read in years. I much preferred his Looking for Alaska. I think I might have liked this more when I was younger but my reading tastes have changed significantly.

    I just bought this book because I heard that its good but it will make you cry so I haven't started reading it yet because I'm not emotionally prepared to cry.

    Anyone who didn't cry during Marley & me is soulless.

    I bought it last month because I had heard it was good, but I'm too stressed with real life to cry over a book..so I haven't read it yet. LOL

    I hate to be in a different boat from everyone here, but I thought this book was terribly written. It made me roll my eyes and gag numerous times, in fact Twilight was far less annoying for me to read. I tried so hard to enjoy it because all of my friends do, I really did... but no. All of John Green's book follow the same template, he's no special writer, and I really don't see the big deal. The dialogues were pretentious and unnatural, even more so the characters. Two thumbs down from me.
