Eefi and I had a good chat about this the other day. http://www.anonym.to is a good service and IIRC we used to have a mod on the forum that would mask every link through this service.

It's unnecessary though, you don't get frozen for following a link from here (or anywhere) to Neopets.

Yeah, that's fine - but wouldn't it probably be better to anonymize the referer anyway, to avoid giving them very easily gathered statistics on just how many clickthroughs we're giving them? :p

.

And just because they aren't using it right now doesn't mean they won't scrutinize against Neocodex through-traffic in the future.

(I, too, can't see this happening soon, but I figured it'd be better to err on the side of caution  :/ )

They'd be freezing a lot of innocent people if they did and even they aren't that stupid. :p All the evidence from over the years suggests that they don't and never have used referral links as part of abuse investigations.

If it really is an issue, I suppose I could implement a fix. I'd rather just use SSL than a 3rd party service. However, as has been stated, I doubt they'd bother.

Well, we both do live in Australia. I suppose you could buy me a nice seafood dinner sometime. iHbpXv5pXPbjq.gif

Also, I'll update this at some point today. There are some pets that seem to be stuck in the system.

What part of Oz are you in?

Is there a wild chance that we can find UC pets with your database? I don't personally care, but I'm wondering to what extent the database can go.

Sydney.

If you briefly explain to me what a UC pet is, I can write a provision for it.

I don't think it would actually be possible.
In terms of stats, age, color, species, they are identical to those we already have.
The image of the pet is the only difference, it uses the old art, before the conversion was made to allow pets to be customized.

I think it'd be pretty easy actually. I'll look at implementing it some time this week.

I live in Brissie so not far off. Come to the dark side muahahahaha  :reaper:

That would probably be super cool if you could do that, considering how many peeps are into those "old art" or UC pets.

I just had a small thought that perhaps the "old art" images MAY have a different type of coding or a different image tag/URL than the new art images (I don't really know)...so I figured they could also be categorised.

Ohhh neat, if so that would be pretty awesome. It hasn't been done before that I know of so you'd be the first one!

Do you think it'd be possible to also include whether the pet has a petpet or not?

Do you adopt, steal petpets and then pound pets, CaptainDantes?

People sometimes forget they have attached Petpets to their Pets.

It's surprising what kind of Petpets I got that way. :p

Lol! I was thinking more about avatars, but good thinking! ;)

^^A joke if you were wondering. But if I found a flizzardo or a meowclops, could you blame me?

This is actually already done locally, I just have to push the changes up.

This would require some sort of client side implementation (you wouldn't exactly want the server adopting pets on your behalf, since it would be logging in to every account from the one IP). I've been contemplating whether or not I should write some Java Applets for the website and, if I do, this will be one of the first programs I write.
