yay, new SOTW!

#1: adorable! but the animation is a tad bit fast and it takes a while to load in my laptop. the final image (mutant flotsam) is quite pixelated too.

#2: can't see how this relates with the theme. i don't really follow the sherlock series, so yeah... but graphically, it's pretty cool! wish there is more colors, though. sherlock looks like he is wearing a wig or something because his hair blends with the background lol.

#3: omg, matrixxxx! i like this one. the pills really stand out in the picture... making me wanna extend my hand and grab one of them. not too sure with the random light beam at the top, though. same goes to the font too.

#4: the snow effect is really awesome! i like how crisp and sharp the whole image is. but i don't like how assymetrical they are. plus, i think the summer needs an animation too.

#5: kinda cool. a matchstick suppose to light up fire, but it creates water instead. but i think the font isn't readable and the background is too plain.

I must say, #1 reminds me of @IcedEarth's entry in one of the previous SOTW comps. It's quite awesome (slight shame about the quality, but no biggy) and I am quite envious of the skills involved to produce it. I assume it was done with Adobe After Effects (please whoever made it, DON'T say yes or no yet for obvious reasons). So this one gets my vote. The Normal/Mutant contrast really captures the theme well IMO.

 

I also liked #4 for the crisp and clear signature. The snow really makes it stand out from the others, but as @Stuck said, I feel the Summer side should've had an animation of its own (maybe a few animated rays of sunlight shining through the tree or something, but not 100% necessary).

 

Good job to all who entered, they have all captured the theme well in one way or another. Well done and good luck!

I think they are ALL GREAT! 

 

However I could only choose one, and I chose #1, it's awesome! I used to love mutant flotsams
