I watched the first episode yesterday.  I have to say, I don't really understand why people say it's slow at first.  I'm sure it could pick up even more but there's already a lot going on.

I think Tatiana Maslany is an amazing actress in the show, because she plays so many different characters (who are all SOO different) that she's actually very convincing that there are 12 of her.

I have no idea what to think about Helena being alive. I was really opposed to the idea beforehand, but I think I trust them to make it work?

Episode 2 was clearly mostly setup for the rest of the season, but damn was it well done. There were a couple of great surprises (the Mrs. S scene OMGWHAT), and the science Mormons seem a lot more interesting than Tomas so I'm optimistic about that plotline.

 

Rachel's "so...you're gay?" was killer.

 

Also, there was a very conspicuous absence of Paul. What's that beige man doing these days?

Mrs. S stabbed Mean Irish Lady's hands into the table and went after Mean Irish Man I couldn't articulate anything meaningful. They had built enough tension in that scene that I was on edge, but I did not see that coming.

For some reason, I never catch on when Sarah's being impersonated. Last season with Helena, and now with Rachel, I just didn't see it coming. I thought we got a much more interesting look into each clone this week, compared to last week, but the Rachel scenes really took the cake. For some reason, I never expected her to attempt to train Kira to be her protégé (if that's what she's planning?).

 

It'll be interesting to see how Sarah responds to Delphine next week, and how Paul/Cal play in. Crazy that there's only one more episode this season.

By the way, I still think Rachel is an awesome character.

A lot of people on tumblr are complaining that Ari Millen will distract from TatMas and won't be able to portray clones as well as she has, but I have full faith in him. He's done a fine job as Mark, and it'll be interesting to see where they take the plot next season. We only saw two new characters played by him this episode, so I'm guessing they won't be as central as the female clones. Anyways, I'm glad to finally have an answer for all the cryptic military crap. And Paul has an actual role now....kind of.

 

Where's Delphine...? It's interesting to see Dyad fracture, with Delphine out of the picture (for Dyad at least), and Marion revealed to (maybe) be on Sarah's side. The crippled child clone was a nice touch, Kira deserves a friend. And I really enjoyed Rachel's Azula-level meltdown, and anxiously await eyepatch Rachel next season.
