I hope this is the right place to post this -

I'm trying to sell a very valuable item on neopets (unpriced, potentially expensive book). Can you give me a strategy on how to find a buyer? Also, since the price will likely exceed the auction house, how do I actually get the nps that were promised?

Thanks!

post on the boards, advertise on the TC and BD possibly.

For items over 20m in value, you'll probably have to have them overpay in ETS or if you want all pure, you'll put up junk auctions for however much it's worth and have them bid, and have the actual item on the trading post and they can offer and you accept after they make the bids on the items in auction.

I'm a person who values time over profit so I would sell it for lower for gallery owners or resellers to buy.

But for that item, look for someone who has an extensive maraquan/maractite/book gallery and see if they are interested. It's mostly research for potential buyers and patience for selling high end items that aren't avatar or BD items.

    Thanks for the advice!

And I think there IS a limit at the auction house of 10mil starting bid...I think?

    20m starting bid for auction

What you do is you put a bunch of junk items up for sale, and they bid on those until it reaches the agreed amount, than you trade them the item they want via TP after you receive the bids

While I don't really have a lot of knowledge on the rarest books, I am a reseller, and as such I have bought/sold/own quite a few r99 books, and even the rarest books don't go that deep into the millions, you should be able to sell it on the auction house just fine

    Is it a booktastic book?

No, it's an old retired non-booktastic book

    @ MagicMoose

I just checked: 10mil is the highest starting bid you can have, but you can make it increments of 10mil to make the first bid 20mil. Is that what you were talking about?

I would put it on auction with the price you want and just leave it there. Do it everyday till someone buy it

Advertise it for sale on the boards and in TP until you get an offer you like.
Once you sell it on the auction house you place junk items in auction worth up to 50m and once they bid on them, you give them item to them via TP.

If you're not willing to negotiate with your buyers you'll find you're going to have an extremely difficult time selling your items.

    @Hummingway

Oh for sure! But I don't want to go down to 15mil (which is all I've been offered) when it's the only book of its kind I can find anywhere. So I don't mind waiting :)

    Does really TNT allow that?

I know it's stupid if they don't because there are many items worth more than the highest start price.

It's one more of those things I continue ask myself how difficult it would be for TNT change it?! :/

    Well, it's TNT xD

Then if they allow it, it's one more reason for us to ask why didn't change auction house already.

It's not a big deal, people would continue to sell things even if TNT didn't allow it (what can TNT forbid us to do anyway?  :shifty:) but I guess it's too much trouble for them to change things that could actually be better for us and give us some security when dealing with extremely expensive items...
