I live in Korea with some pretty stellar internets, but within the last 3 hours Neopets has been running suspiciously slow. I've been on NP during peak hours and never had to wait 5 min for a page to load. I have an uneasy feeling about this. Just curious, is anyone else having this experience on the website?

*wipes brow sweat* Okay, good. I was wondering if it was just me. I'm super paranoid about getting hacked again. I've been slowly building up my second account before I grab the AB program, just so it will look legit and won't raise any redflags. Luckily, I have 3 computers in my house. So it makes duel playing easier and sending messages back and forth.

 

I'm gonna back up what I have right now, taking screen shots of my inventory. Not sure if that matters, last time I got hacked I pretty much knew every item I had and Neopets replaced zero/nothing, not even the 45 mil I had.


 

Looks better to me, could be brief though.

It looks like things have cleared up for the time being, until then. I'm gonna rewatch Merlin (BBC version)

Slightly off topic...but, does anyone bets with the Food Club? I've made a little bit of money from there the last 4 bets 30,000-145,000. Kinda wish I bet more, I think my max is 9668 right now.

Yeah don't worry I got restock banned TWICE and got one item between em both.

I never really bother with HPD. Every man and his dog seem to be stalking the shops and shit. I prefer to wait until the next day when everyone is distracted gloating about their snags. :3 Seems to get better success.

I don't use autobuyers at all right now. But Neopets has been on and off that programs need to take it into consideration and fail gracefully instead of hanging up #cheaterProblems

It never used to be much of an issue, but lately it really has been screwy. I have a feeling we're going to see some serious changes considering the new owners, too...

Yeah, I had way too many issues with Abrosia hanging up that I don't use it except on HPD

So far there haven't been any notable changes. What do you expect them to do?

 

If you had just bought neopets, what would you do?

 

It's clear to see that the active userbase has been dwindling for years - so what could you potentially do to improve it?

 

I can think of a few things:

• App - there's a planned Neopets app in the works, so this could coincide to some site design changes
• New areas - there's no reason they couldn't add some new areas to try and get more kids involved
• Expansion into other game types - I think there was a PS(2)? game for neopets, perhaps they'd consider releasing some mini-games on mobile or using HTML5 - this could garner some revenue pretty quickly

The new owners will be going down one of two roads - either leave it the way it is as it's probably profitable (but not hugely, like it once was), or try to refresh the entire brand and get people who were once members back again.

 

I have a bit of hope that the new company want to extend the brand to the powerful image it once had.
