If we're going with stepping on things, upturned plugs are far worse than lego. But even then, I'll take it over a lot of things.

Somehow managed to get a bit of loose thread from a blanket wrapped around my pinkie toe and underneath the nail at the same time. Boyfriend yanked the blanket off me and off came the toenail. Bled for about an hour and a half and did nothing but scream and whine obscenities at him. Worst pain I've ever endured in my life, and I've had kidney stones.
Damn thing still hasn't grown back, don't think it ever will.

I get this incredible pain that lances through my body from time to time. It's like being impaled on lightning. It sends me onto my tiptoes and try to lift myself up onto a counter or w/e is nearby mindlessly trying to get away from it. They don't happen often, it started after first miscarriage and occurred more frequently after my second. Yup.

Mine was last year when I was getting an impacted wisdom tooth removed. The junior dentist who was doing the anaesthesia did not give me enough to numb me up completely. Being a dental student myself, I noted that she missed one of the routine injections and asked her to give it to me, but she friggin didn't! Anyway, I was fine during the incisions, but then came the part where the surgeon strips the gums away from the bone and I felt every bit of it.. I now know what it feels like to literally have your flesh torn off from bone. The pain was so bad that it gave me a panic attack!

ah, that's terrible! you know this reminds me of a negligence case in which a doctor forgot to give anaesthetics to a patient during surgery and when the surgery was over the patient committed suicide. ![]()

...this thread.
;-;
Last I, kinda like Ali, had a cyst explode on my ovaries. Holy crap. The nurse was all like, I know it hurts, but you have to do these tests. Threatened with a catheter while I'm sitting here being all like, WOMAN. I AM CRAWLING TO THE BATHROOM. Good hospital, snarky staff @4am, plus I had to miss work that day. Triple pains.

One of the styles of chairs that we build at work are 10538 and the 538 has decorative tacks in the front posts on either side. These tacks are shot into the chair individually and part of my job involves doing that. These tacks are 1-3/8" long and very sharp. Yesterday we had to build them and somewhere between the 5th and 9th chairs I got several stuck in my boots but didn't notice until they made their way into my foot a little while later. The painful part is pulling the tack out after it's sunk in, the rest of the time it just feels like a sharp pebble.

Tooth pain followed closely behind my pain from spondylolisthesis. Nothing worse than the white hot pain of a tooth in need of a root canal. And those dentists...![]()

I had something similar happen where I had a bad reaction to the anesthesia where it just dulled the pain and paralyzed me, but that was more terrifying than painful.

Reminds me of a patient of mine with a tooth also in need of root canal treatment. The infection was so bad that the anaesthesia was ineffective on her. I almost got punched in the face by her, but thankfully I managed to evade just in time. :x
I assure you we're nice people. We take all sorts of crap from patients who greet us by telling us that they hate us which is a kind of pain too.. Imagine having to be all nice and friendly to someone who hates you. ![]()

Ouch, that is horrible! I don't hate dentists per say, just their profession. ![]()
