Some things to consider:

  • size (of the lizard itself and required size of the enclosure)
  • cost (fuckers can be expensive)
  • diet (crickets are a pain in the ass to breed, yo)
  • temperament (can a mean lizard be a good lizard??? You decide)
  • special powers

I'd get a veiled chameleon because they're pretty solid on all of those fronts (except for temperament, maybe).

yes I know chameleons don't actually work like that :b

Does it have to be a lizard?

I'd get a Bearded Dragon! (These guys are sooo sweet. You can have them on your shoulder while you watch TV.)

    Spoiler

Or if size is reaaaaally a problem, I'd get a Leopard Gecko.

    Spoiler

I have an ADORABLE Pacman Frog (not a lizard but fuck you).

    Spoiler

    And about your cricket comment...

If you want a lizard, crickets are gonna be a part of your life for a while. (Until they are old enough to eat something else.)

Mealworms are good for the geckos. You'd still have mix up the diet though.

Feel free to ask me any questions if you need it :3

EDIT: All these guys would be most comfortable in a 10 gallon tank.

not a fan of lizards. my house is surrounded by monitor lizards and they're gross. used to see one eating a dead kitten, eww.

but if i really really had to, uhh, maybe an iguana? it is kinda passive so taking care of it won't be much of a chore.

I'd like a bearded dragon or a gecko, preferably a gold dust day gecko (try saying that fast five times!). I mean look at this cutie:

Caring for them is bloody expensive, but would be so worth it.

I don't like having reptiles as pets. Neither small animals like guinea pigs or bunnies. Infact, I think it's only ok to have pets who can run away from you if they want to. I am really not a fan of caging anything in. And reptiles, man, you can do so much wrong, having them as pets. Poor little fuckers :(

I had bearded dragons growing up. I originally wanted a chameleon, but they're harder to take care of and have to be a certain temperature or something.

So I guess I'd pick chameleon

Nobody going for a Komodo dragon? O_o Imagine how bad-ass you'd look taking one of those for a walk...

I would get a chameleon because I like their colors and eyes and curly tails. I'm totally inexperienced with lizards and other reptiles, though, so I guess I'd start off with something a little easier to care for.

This reminds me of this guy, just casually taking his snake for a walk looking like a badass.

Like there's any point putting a lead on a snake. They don't even have a neck. xD

    Or they are only neck...

I love how the dog looks like he's well aware that the snake might want him for breakfast.

Probably because they're expensive, dangerous, illegal, could devour a man and has "poisonous" spit?

How on earth did he get the snake to go on a walk with him? I didn't think they were that intelligent.
