I wasn't having much luck with google so I've been going through the lost & pound, copying the hours from petpages into an age calculator. I have a growing list. I'm happy to share pets with upcoming birthdays, but I don't know how I feel about posting them in this thread (given there is potential there for others to check out the accounts who are adopting) It wouldnt be a big deal, except I read some comments on another board that shows how shitty that can be.

Hmm, didn't TNT freeze people for abusing that though? Or was it only a few people.

No, they don't freeze for this. lol.TNT considers pets in the pound fair game, I'll look for the editorial on what they sayd about detatching petpets because the response there was very similar. They think it's "sad" but it's not freezable.

 

but as for the cupcakes their response was this:

 

"We did make them no trade for a reason. We'd ask that you consider the spirit of that and not go to lengths to circumvent it. The birthday cupcakes are intended as a special treat for your Neopets, not a new method of training." ~ editorial 670

Ah okay, thought people were frozen for it. They at least removed the birthdate from the pet look up to keep the "spirit of training"

I haven't seen anything to suggest anyone has been frozen. but maybe someone can confirm that? I would think though that moving birthday pets through a series of accounts, and then moving your battlepet through them to gain the benefits seems way more likely freezable than adopting and repounding, or creating a pet and pounding. (people already do this needlessly for avatars)

 

Adopting a pet for an avatar or to remove the petpet/grab a cupcake/gain a battledome challenger/zap and throw back doesnt seem to be getting anyone in trouble. Theres no easy way to enforce that. They could I guess look at your pile of cupcakes and be like:

 

but the response they gave in the editorial was very weak handed, and they didn't explicitly state that cupcake abuse was against the rules. They could have easily prohibited any of the suggested methods described in the editorial question. They didn't. Usually after an answer like that more questions come in asking for clarification and they havent addressed it since. 

 

If I post later on that my account has been frozen for cupcake hoarding feel free to bring up this post

I don't think people publicly talk about abusing this on the boards.

I'm saying that people probably repeat what they hear on the boards, assume it's freezable because they've heard as much and that someone, somewhere got iced but don't know of any instances off hand. Thats what gets repeated.

That seems to be the case. Your pet lookup also gets bunches of balloons floating everywhere on it until its birthday is over... a little annoying if you're trying to get a clear view of the page as you edit it.

Yea, I still forget my pets bdays. I just had one that was about two weeks ago that I forgot.
