Do you use antivirus? Antimalware? Antianything? Windows Defender?

I don't use anything, besides run malwarebytes once in a while when TC starts fucking up.

Nope. I'm smart enough to know what I'm downloading, so I don't have anything protecting my computer besides a malware scanner I run every once in a while. Other than that, nope.

You don't need to manually download something to get malware. Some sites (like porn sites) have malicious ads that force your computer to download malware when you load the page. It is good practice to have some sort of malware protection, even if it is free.

Not necessary, if they're running a malware cleaner once in a while.

Yeah, I know that. It sucks! I just don't go to porn sites (lol), and most of the time I'll never go through a link if I don't think it's safe (Steam Habit.) The little things like malware are the things I get through dumb websites, and that's where Malwarebytes comes in.

MSE is the best AV B))

That isn't gonna protect you from sites with java exploit shit on them :p I went on some site linked on a different forum once and it appeared to be fine, didn't download anything, but later someone said everyone shouldn't go yo it because of that shit being there on there. Of course this was years ago and I dunno how common these sorta exploits are but its always good being safe

(Guess I should add this wasn't porn, it was some technology-related site lmao)

But what if the malware steals your information, like credit card number or social security number? It's too late then.

I don't have a credit card, and I don't put my SSN anywhere near my computer. So I think the malware is looking for something it's not gonna get. xD

There is no reason not to have MSE [or something similar] running on your computer. Protects you in case you ever make a mistake, or if you haven't even realized something was happening. Doesn't slow down your computer. I have malwarebytes and it works well, but I almost never run it because MSE catches everything (although I haven't gotten pretty much anything since I stopped using kazaa).

I can't think of any reason I'd have my social security number on my computer. I don't have a bank account. I don't have a credit card. And anti-virus doesn't protect against most malware anyway.

    Oh... computer protection... how droll...

Avast for the common, everyday stuff.

Malwarebytes and Spybot S&D in the rare chance shit gets out of hand.

    I use McAfee

When a person demands that I install Antivirus on their computer, I install BitDefender (free) for them. It has a very small footprint and actually does active scanning in the free version (most antivirus only does on demand scanning in the free version).

Most problems are solved with MalwareBytes. I keep it installed and any time anything feels slightly off on my computer, I give her a scan... Most of what it finds are things that I pirated... because keygens and cracks tend to look like viruses.

    Firewall? Standard Windows shit.

The only thing I've been using for years now is Microsoft Security Essentials. The last time I had any sort of virus, trojan, or malware/spyware problem when I was like 14, and I clicked on the ads on porn sites. Malicious stuff is pretty easy to stay away from.

AVG AntiVirus, it does it's job. Then again I don't do any risky business or download a ton of stuff, so I'm pretty safe. I hope.
