WINNERS

First Place - @CaptainDantes

Butternut Squash and Roasted Garlic Bisque

Spoiler

Second Place - @Kord

Beer Chocolate Chili

Spoiler

The base recipe is at this URL (I will include changes I made to it below):  https://www.yahoo.co...8477866295.html

• The beer that I selected was not a dark Mexican variety but rather an American brown ale from a local brewery...Dirty Little Freak (featured especially prominently in the second photo) has definite dark chocolate but also caramel undertones, and it seemed very well-suited for use in this recipe.
• I used no cilantro or parsley.
• I sliced the jalapeños rather than coarse chopping them.
• Upon adding things to the slow cooker, I tossed in ~3 cups of light red kidney beans that had been soaked overnight.

Third Place - @Prisca

Hammy Goodness

Spoiler

This piece of hammy goodness started out as a raw shoulder of ham. To prepare it, i skinned it, and cut diamonds all over it. Then I decorated it with whole cloves (poked in the center of the diamonds) and lathered in maple syrup and Djon Mustard. It was set to cook for an hour where it browned and the diamonds separated. The ham cooled for two hours and was rated 'delicious' by its consumers.

Fourth Place - @Rocket

Broccoli Gorgonzola Au Gratin Potatoes

I have everything to make the soup in my kitchen right now. This has rejuvenated my joy for life.

@Nymh I am loving the little Duckie award for the contest. I don't know if the 1st place winner has picked a prize yet...if @CaptainDants picks the "surprise IRL gift", then I will pass on the others for @Prisca to select from.

I would absolutely LOVE that!!! Heh I'd planned on just kind of playing it by ear (which of course I doubt would work the first time through, but I love culinary adventure). No rush, I plan to prepare it the weekend after this one. I love testing out the recipes from the contests, and have never been disappointed. Hmmm kind of rude of me not to have mentioned before that I do this htough! In any case, I feel confident that Neocodex folks eat well based on the fab recipes.

Sorry, it is going to happen! This week, I promise!
