Apparently someone in the neighbourhood just died of a heart attack while out exercising...

We heard something like a dog howling but it was actually his wife ( I think ) crying, so we went out and realized he passed.

I feel so bad for the family, especially on Christmas Eve ;c

Our friend died early on Christmas morning. Her wee twin boys woke up to open their stockings 10 minutes later. So heartbreaking.

Aha, so you do have a heart.

But seriously, that's really sad. Did the kids find her? :(

It's very small so we only use it on special occasions for fear of wearing it out.

No, her husband was with her at the end. Enough time to hold her hand and say goodbye before he had to go open presents anyway.

Not a shock thing, stage IV colon cancer at 35 with 2 little boys just started school. We knew this would be her last Christmas, if she made it. Which she so nearly did. And if that doesn't make you all appreciate your days a bit more, I don't know what will.

Edit: Ah, she's in all the papers. So weird.

This thread is making me sad. There was a really bad car accident on Christmas eve near my dads house. 3 were sent to the hospital in critical condition and someone died on impact. I think the girl who caused it didn't have terrible injuries. Not really sure how she lost control of her vehicle, but she ended up driving over a median and hitting oncoming traffic or something. :(
