@Guppie If your usual style is realistic it's probably easy to switch to a more abstract style. I can only draw like that ^^; (well I can copy photos but I don't really like it :T)

Week 8? Working on the face fundamentals. So mainly just sketches for now.

@Wisdom - those look fantastic! I need to work on faces myself.... who'd you use for your model?

Gal Gadot. I usually work with only one reference 'model' and try to do faces from all angle.

@Fikri  @Hopeless thanks, guys! She's a mutant mynci. (Which is just a gorilla with horns) I'm really glad I forced myself to color everything. I did the sketchy lines in a bunch of layers/ different colors and it was just a mess. I would have posted it like that.Thankfully I slept on it, and figured out how to desaturate some of it this morning.  I'm starting to get the hang of shading in gimp.

Oh my goodness, that makes total sense - I love it! Honestly, the mess you're talking about was probably pretty cool in its own right but wow, it totally paid off to sleep on it - the shading is so delicate and works for the drawing so well!

@0ryx I knew it was a mutant Mynci from the moment I laid eyes on her tiny teacup; makes me wish I'd adopted the VWN mutant Mynci girl I was offered a couple years ago.

I drew a picture of an Eevee for my ladyfriend, Evie, on Valentine's Day (which we're actually celebrating on the 20th). Coincidentally, this started out as just something small that I would then cut out and slip inside a card, but then I just kinda ditched that idea and went all the way with the drawing.

 

Anyhow, as this is in place of a card, I'll also be putting a proper message on the other side of the drawing - as well as the schmaltzy (but wholly sincere) message you can see on the front, written in my own janky handwriting - then slipping it inside a picture frame to give to her as a present.

I think this also counts as my Week 2 drawing. I'm catching up, somewhat...

 

I've also learnt that I desperately need a proper pencil set, especially 'B's. HBs hardly cut it.

I just wanted to say my stuff is being uploaded late. I let my friend hold a pic cus she wanted to photo copy it *facepalm* and I forgot to ask for it back. 

I also wanted to say that seriously, all these pics & drawings are so freeking awesome :3 *singlemantear* you guys make me proud~
