I thought using different computers and devices would give me different IP's, obviously I know nothing about computers and networks, so my main question/concern, is there really any point to using different devices if they have the same IP? I've been doing this for a long while and they havent came after me yet, if they have seen all these accounts on different devices but the same ip address at the same time, and they havent done anything yet, is there really any reason not to just use one computer? or at least a couple accounts on one computer? I know i used to use multilple accounts on the same computer when I was more ignorant of their capabilities, but I guess what I am really looking for is horror stories you all have had? Has anyone here been banned for using multiple accounts on the same iP? Same device? Just trying to separate fact from old wives tales.
Just found out all of my Devices have the same public IP

The more accounts on one IP doing more than just lurking is going to raise redflags.
The fact that you haven't been iced yet, means you are either not doing a whole lot or lucky or a combination of both. If you really want to keep all of your accounts safe look into proxies or a vpn.
I'm currently ip banned and have been since the AC from score sending on so many accounts on the same ip.

The IP depends on the internet connection, so even if you change computers or do it from your phone, as long as you're connected from the same internet source (like, your home's) the IP will be the same. Is pretty easy to change IPs on computers though, there're different programs that do this for you.
Using the same IP is always a risk since if you get frozen, you'll get chain frozen and lose everything. Is always better to use proxies.

Ok well all i really do is autobuy and that is supposed to look legit as long as ou stay within a safe range. I do have shops and pets on each of those accounts, im constantly trading and such, but i dont really play games and stuff like that. I have different malls that I am in so I guess that helps it look legit. Perhaps I look like a household of neopets players? I realize luck factor into it quite a bit, this whole thing is just really confusing. Im sort of scared of using proxies because of how unreliable they can be at times as well as the few people Ive heard gotten banned because it was super suspicous when their ip kept hopping to new cities and countries on the same day.

Can they they see the computer's IP Address as well? is that perhaps why I have not been frozen? I always have problems with my wifi because it says that another computer has the same ip address so I cant connect, So I think my devices always have different Ip addresses, there isnt programs that can change my home ip though huh?

If you use a mobile device just use your 3G/4G when accessing neo, it should be a diff IP since it depends on your internet signal. Likewise, use a proxy online (on computer) use your phone(or tablet) for your at home wifi then use your phone's 3G for a diff account. If you're just lightly cheating (nothing too crazy/stuff a legit player could do) they may just assume that your family plays and stuff.
However, I got banned on multiple accounts with the same IP when one of my accounts got banned. I tried using the excuse of one account I cheated on being a sibling's account but this was way back when tickets took months to be answered so nothing came of it.

If you dont mind me asking, what exactly were you doing that you think got you banned, or was it just that you were using multiple accounts? were you using them all on the same device/browser?

I got an impossible score on a game and got noticed by report happys because I was topping the high score list
It was totally my fault lol. I know for a fact that was the reason (got banned back when you could see why you were frozen and it was for cheating on flash games).
I was using the accounts on the same IP/device/browser. No one to blame but myself really.
You can always change your IP each time you log in to the different accounts. I do this by unplugging my router for about 10 minutes then plugging it back in and tracking my IP using whatsmyip.net but that's very tedious and time consuming haha.

lol actually might be alot easier then using a vpn or proxy especially as I wont see a loss in connection quality, I realize that if you do get caught cheating then you are at risk of being banned on all your accounts, but so far I havent seen anyone banned for having multiple accounts on the same IP as their sole offence. I realize there is always a chance with abrosia, however at this point I find it relatively safe and normalized, especially considering my times range sporadically from 1500+ms to 10000+ms. As long as I dont leave it going for absurd amounts of time I feel i will be ok, I also watch it so I am just as impatient about being in the same shop as I would as a normal restocker. My shop change times range from 5-10 different shops and between 1-5 mins.

I don't think TNT can see your device's MAC address, so there's no point in using different devices (unless if you're concerned for the health of your computer). Different IPs are what matters.
but i believe each of my devices has a different ip address within the network no? can they see that? I know they can see like browser, screen resolution, stuff like that, no one is really sure if they monitor it though

Each device shares the same IP.

Out of sheer curiosity (I'm a bit of a chicken, ironically), what stock glitch?

I didn't know they actually ban IPs. Surprised.

@Silvermajra You know you could simply check your IP address on your different devices using this site: http://whatismyipaddress.com
I suspect that they will all have the same IP address.
yeah i ended up doing that and they all had the same one, also you can just type my ip in google and they will let you know. thats how i found out originally.

go to the guides section, basically you but a highly fluctating stock such as vtps or kson while your language is set to portuguese, then switch it back to english adn sell it. for some reason the stock prices in other langues are different then the English stocks only, (all the other languages have one set of stock prices, english has its own.)

Wait so if someone is IP banned, couldnt they just unplug their router for ten minutes and get back on neopets?

Unless I'm mistaken, yes. I think IP bans from neopets are rarer than them just chain icing your accounts though

Looking back, I just cant figure it out. I realize I have to have a decent amount of luck, but I dont see how I could have that much luck. Over the past ten years, I've done so many things using the same Computer AND browser, let alone the same IP. I played habitarium on three accounts simultaneously, I challenged my accounts to keyquest, ive direct transferred items, crap for millions auctions, I've simultaneously autobought on four accounts overnight. Autobought millions in stamps and magic, used the scored sender on multiple accounts simultaneously I cant see how I have gotten lucky through all of this, and nothing has happened to any account. I think it has to be you can only get chain iced if you draw attention to one of your accounts, and even then, there are tons of people that have only had one of their accounts banned even though they used the same IP. I think while TNT CAN see tons of information, they arent monitoring things as closely as we are paranoid about. Hell in all actuality, every thing Ive done combined isnt nearly as bad as someone abusing a single duper or someone else scamming people, it just wouldnt even make sense for them to devote resources to banning people that have the same IP, they would have to deal with more tickets because of all the families that play neopets. Finding out that while I thought I was being sneaky i was just as exposed had I done nothing, its actually pretty freeing.

I don't think TNT is actively looking at IPs despite the popular belief. Likewise, they can't actively looking for cheaters, game score, glitch abusers.
You need to get reported for them to "consider" taking a look into it.
Just take a look this way,
IF you are an owner of a gaming company, would you pay 1 employee just to actively look at your 10k ~ 50k users to see if they are cheating? Probably not.
IF you are an employee of a gaming company, would you actively search and look at the IPs of your 10k ~ 50k users? Probably not.
You have to give them a reason to look at your account/accounts and gaining NPs isn't one of them, because they could care less about the in-game economy. Only if you are abusing glitch that earns you RL $$ items, in Neopets case it's NC, you will get a swift response/ban. Other than that, it's only if you are reported will they care.
EDIT:
Humble opinion:
Those people with multiple accounts that got iced, either used account names that were TOO similar. They outted themselves accidentally in public board/thread and it's too embarrassing to admit. Then got reported by Neo-vigilante.

My thoughts exactly, Im just going to do what I find convenient within the confines of what I deem "safe" and if I get iced, oh well more time for other ventures.
