This is pretty much over my head, is there a way to dummy it down?
Sure! Here's a step-by-step with pictures:
Open Facebook, run Ghoul Catchers.
Open Cheat Engine, open the Plugin Container process: (note, you probably will have 2. try one, I'll write how to check which one is right next!)
Now! To verify this is the correct process, Enable Speedhack, and then set the speed to like 100 or 500 or something ridiculous, then hit "Apply" to apply it. If the game speeds up (you'll notice the ghouls animate much more quickly, or the timer for your next life goes very quickly), you've got the right process! If not, try the other plugin container:
If you keep that speedhack active you'll just keep getting extra life quickly instead of having to wait 20 minutes or however long that timer is. But the best way to play is to mess with your turns counter while you're in a level.
Now, the memory address for your lives changes each time you load a level, so you will need to redo this every time you play a level. But it's easy enough. Once you've got a level loaded, check out your turns counter
So right here we've got 30. We'll search for this number in Cheat Engine just by putting 30 into the Value field and then clicking First Scan, like so:
You'll get a lot of results! Which is why we want to do this at the start of the level. We'll need to watch the number change to see which one is the correct one! Take a turn, so that your turn counter goes down (in this case to 29) then write the new number into Value, and click "Next Scan". This will search for a number that started at 30 and changed to 29!
Keep doing this - taking turns and doing a Next Scan for the new number, until you have only one result left. That result will be the memory your turns left are stored at! Double-click on it to bring it down to the bottom so you can easily edit it.
Now you can double-click on that "Value" on the bottom in white, and it'll bring up a window for you to change that value. Like me, I decided I want 50 turns right now. So I'll enter 50 and hit "OK":
And voila! I have 50 turns. This will only update the turns counter after you take your next turn. So it'll appear to be the old number until you move.
NOTE: do NOT click the checkbox on "Active" or your turns will be stuck at 50. Which can mess you up, because the level only ends when you're out of turns and sometimes it tries to automatically use up all your remaining turns. So just keep an eye on your turns left and change the Value again if you're running low.
Hope this helps! Let me know if you need clarification at all.
