This is completely random but it's 5AM and I'm studying for exams

So for those who haven't read Harry Potter, a Horcrux is a physical object where you'd place a portion of your soul into and thus you are left "immortal" until someone is able to destroy all the horcruxes aka destroying all parts of your soul (it also disfigures you but let's ignore that part). So in the books, the villain would put it into a diary, a snake, a locket etc.

What would yours be? Where would you store your soul so it would have no possibility of being destroyed? Let's say max 5!

A 1986 penny - stored in a roll of pennies at a random bank at Lawton, OK (where or even if it goes from there idk), a first edition British hardcover copy of Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix - stored at the Library of Congress, my cat Q - always by my side,  a teddy bear my mom made me when I was a baby - under a pillow in my current place of residence, and Van Gogh's "Starry Night" - the Museum of Modern Art, NY.

I would think that something like that should be kept in places secret/accessible and at the same time, a memento from the days when you create it. So....

    1. Probably a cat. Cause if you're living till the heat death of the universe what other creature would be better

    2. A car. Anyway and accessible!

    3.  A block of cheese. I just want to see the outcomes of that, eating my soul alive.

That is assuming no meddling wizards destroy it of course :p

i'd put my soul in natural wonders because i'd like to be one with nature (and to live forever and ever, ty). so my horcruxes will be grand canyon, great barrier reef, victoria falls, mount everest and beyonce's thigh gap. :)

    Hmm, interesting question!

I would probably use objects that are naturally difficult to destroy/find and hide them in places difficult to reach or at least access. Maybe something like

    1. A small diamond, hidden in a bag of other diamonds, hidden in a cave in the Himalayas

    2. A nondescript rock, buried beneath the gravestone of someone important

    3. The original Magna Carta

    4. My favorite "lucky" coin, currently hidden underneath a certain tree at a certain location...

    5. Chuck Norris?

A gold cup in the lost ancient city of Atlantis.

    A rock in Saturn's ring.

A droplet of water in Avalon.

    The north star.

A diamond in the 10th dimension.

    GL getting there.

    - My 5 dinar yugoslavia coin

    - An axe

Interesting answers so far :p I don't think I would put my horcrux into a living thing becuase when they died, I think the soul would also die with it. And I want to live forever, not just 15 years :p

Plus I'm not sure how it works but I assume that you'd need physical access to the object. So as much as I would love to have Adam Levine's molar as a horcrux, I don't know how I'd have access to it.

    • A tortoise. Tortoises are notorious for living exceptionally long. The current oldest known tortoise is 183 years old. Also, they are super badass.
    • Van Gogh's Starry Night.
    • A rock at the peak of Mt. Everest.

Meh, the world could do with a few less humans.

I'd use my copy of Dune. I'd only make one. If I'm going to die, I'd rather come back as a Dune character anyway.

    Why not.

    1) My Triforce necklace. It's awesome.

    2) The skeleton of my frog Atticus.

    3) My n3DS.

I disagree. This is a hypothetical outside the realm of logically and statistically possible. Therefore, people are not demonstrating inhumanity; rather wishful thinking. There is absolutely nothing wrong with being fascinated with a fictional and outrageous possibility, to the point where you might consider murder. I would say something far different if the hypothetical situation were more likely and akin to something actually possible. Since that is not the case, I think your observation is irrelevant.

If given the chance to murder at least one person and get away with it, I would definitely murder.

And if this were real, and I could murder someone to become immortal, I would murder multiple people. I have a list.

If you can get past the fact I have access to firearms, tasers and a whole gang backing me up, you're welcome to try :p

Then you'll be jailed for life, and since you're immortal you get to spend the rest of eternity inside a jail cell.

    Avada Kedavra

She lives in the states, so the police system would be too busy beating an innocent black person for trespassing than catch her murders.

How dare you try to educate people on the Internet with your two second dictionary search,

    -----------

A newly sealed box of playing cards that can only be destroyed after a game of 52 card pick up.

I would probably have 3 maximum. One being something that I use a lot like my phone. Then, something that I value... probably my dog (but I don't want him to be killed if someone wants to kill me :() and lastly I would choose something completely random like a rock or a tree far from my house so the person who wants to kill me has no clue to where to find it
