Additional Updates:

  • Lingering data from NotN was causing the Coliseum to freeze when non-existent NotN opponents were selected. This has been corrected.

Your thoughts? I personally absolutely love this gene and we've been due for a new tertiary which I'm happy for. The next gene is most likely Petals (to add onto Butterfly) as they stated they're going to be releasing a treasure gene in-between a gem gene so they're not back-to-back.

I absolutely love the new familiars as well. The fish are awesome...

    I can't see the pictures, so I tried to off-brand google it and found out that it brings up science stuff.

    It's kinda nice?  But the problem is that it covers up the back, and most primary genes only do gene detailing on the back.  So it works best on genes that have stuff going on in the legs, or nothing at all like basic or iridescent.  Cherub maybe.

    I think the new tert looks good when it's a dark color on top of a lighter color. Otherwise, I don't think much of it. :\

    But the fishes and robo monkeys are adorable. :D

    The gene looks great on spirals.  Poison + a complimentary tert color with that gene looks great.

    So it looks like they're correcting the gradient issue on the new gene.  That's a relief.  Maybe it won't be as horrible as we thought it would be.

    I saw that. I'm happy because most of the colors I really liked on certain combos weren't corrected

    @Windies

    Yeah, but there's still issues, mostly on the wings.  Some breeds have more of their edge covered than others, some extend the stripes more than others.  It's a mess.  Skydancer females it is just like a bit of edging on the wings.  Inconsistent.  FF, it's basically ministripes.

    *examines* I think that a big issue I'm having with it now that some of the stripes are way too bold for the detailed kibble, like Coatl fluffbutts and featherdos.  They should have used the style from the fae crests.

    Yeah, they seemed like they really rushed this gene. Some breeds look fine, but others look absolutely rushed. Some of the stripes in general are really messy-looking. Personally, I think they only really look good on male Spirals and Wildclaws.

    @Windies

    I'll agree to that!  Thylacine does cool stuff on Wildclaws who have something like peregrine as a secondary gene, and on Fae who have a primay like poison or bar.  But they need to make it a bit lighter there too, so you can see the details better.

    There's another problem with it, or rather, with the other genes.  Primary genes mostly only show up on top of the dragon, and the new gene covers all that.  Unless there's some limb detailing going on (and usually there isn't), or something really bold going on underneath the tert so you can see through it, it's just a waste.  That's why people keep on wanting to put Okapi on with Thylacine, because the only area left on the main body to show stuff off on is the extremities.

    You know what they need to do?  Stop being so strict about following the belly line on genes.  Hell, look at cherub on male skydancers.
