I still remember I was playing neopets back then in 2002 era where meridell had a war against darigan, and the strongest pet back then majal_kita has the last kill of it. I quitted neopets maybe in 04 or 05 due to studies and recently came back to reminiscene some nice childhood experience. a lot have changed since then, all the neopet's template browsing, what converted unconverted pet, 2 player battledome not working, and unfortunately the duping of items and taking over of neopets by another company.

 

however, what i wanted to ask and discuss was that I think majal_kita  was all the way number 1 pet which dominated for few years but whatever happen to him? how come he have drop so much in ranking? I mean I do heard that featheralley is a very active user but how come she did not continue training the pet? I am a battledome freak back then a decade ago who always wishes to be the top few (but just a dream).

 

so anyone who has continue playing all this years know what happened? I would like hear stories if possible

Well the stats stop mattering after 700, with the downfall of the site she probably just got over it. After all the stat increasers came out and all it really took to make a pet stronger than ever is capital I would imagine the people who spent legitimate years on training got a little upset.

hmmm but I thought very long ago there is already stats increase like cool negg, snegg all those? those neggs are like damn expensive in those days I still remember

Yes but that's the entire thing, people couldn't afford a 175k negg just for a couple stay point. Once bubbling fungus and armoured negg came out the game changed. along with the battledome going to shit, I'm surprised she's even active at all.
I think sneggs were the cheaper ones and cool neggs were around 400k? If you remember, Back then 400k wasn't chump change like it is now.

It's most likely because of how bad/broken the new battledome is. The changes to the BD pretty much killed the thrill that they had and now a lot of them only do like L95 fights or something. There isn't a very big populous doing 2P battles with 700 strength/defence and high hp now. Also there hasn't been any like real war/plot that invovled the BD nor do people think jumpstart will do that so that's another reason as to why people, including featherally, stopped training their already very strong pets

I do hope that at some point JS will get round to the BD as its such a large part of the site even if it does not bring JS any revenues as yet.

I mean come on, the high score table isn't even up, how else could people stalk the strongest pets and revere them?

yea, miss those good old battledome days with those plots and war and old graphics.

 

those days when cool negg were 400k-550k and its so far to make 1m unlike now

yea I know, pretty sad that a lot of focus was gone to elsewhere instead on concentrating on areas like keyquest and battledome.

 

those that play many many years ago like in the early 2000s should know battledome then was like the most important part of neopets.

 

I think will bring back much of the old school players if the battledome is still working well like last time...

Yeah but the time they're taking will destroy their chances. To be honest i don't think it will ever come back at this rate. Why the hell did they have to change it? The old BD was fine

I spent way too much time in the battledome.  I'm probably not with the majority on this, but I never liked and still don't like the "3d-like" change to the bd.  I was okay with just seeing my neopet on one side, and the enemy on the other.  It seemed easier to check icons used and such, too.

it's best not to change things when they are not spoilt.

 

and if you really wanted to implement the change, make sure you got the manpower and resources to do so, else will hang in there halfway.
