I just purchased an account from NeopointsDeals.com (not too expensive, I just wanted a starter main) through paypal. I checked and immediately got an invoice email in the email I gave them with the purchase, no email with the account details. I checked the email associated with my PayPal account, I received an email with the transaction details from PayPal (as is usual) but no email from NeopointsDeals.

Then, I checked the site, and the account I supposedly purchased is still available. Maybe this is just a bad store, as you'd want items to be removed as soon as they're purchased...but I fear this is not the case.

Has anyone had luck using this site? Or will I have to file a dispute with PayPal?

FYI: I'm aware I may have to wait a bit for the order to be fulfilled but I purchased a $2.99 account from another site that got hacked right after my purchase and seemingly disappeared from the internet (PP dispute pending), so I'm a little skeptical of these sites.

I bought an account from NeopointsDeals.com. It didn't cost too much IMO, and I can't access the trading post here so it was my best option

I would wait until you can access the trading post here on Codex. You will likely be dealing with much more reliable people, and will also find a much better price. In the meantime, I would probably file a dispute if the account info hasn't showed up in a couple hours.

File a dispute just for buying from that site. Through a convoluted chain of events, I confirmed they sold stolen accounts. When the AAA was still a thing, it has come to my attention that an old account I made when I made fake accounts to populate a guild, was being used to sell expensive AAA items. I am 100% it was my account because of the creation date and the fact that the name is a stupid ed, edd, n eddy reference with underscores and the numbers of my birthday because I was more stupid than I am now.

Yeah I'm thinking I'll have to file a dispute and wait to access the trading post here, even though that'll be a few days.

Sounds like I should've asked if this site was legit before I purchased..sorry for your loss there that really sucks. I don't support stealing, so I wish I wouldn't have purchased from them now

Yeah, you'd most likely gotten scammed. Dispute it if you can, but don't trust sites like that. I'd wait until you've got access to the trading forums. We're a lot more trustable when it comes to selling accounts and such. Stolen accounts/things are not tolerated here.

Yep. You scam, we ban. You steal, you're our next meal. (In terms of spitting you out, which would be a ban. trading ban or otherwise. depends on the situation if you just get a trading ban or a full account ban).

I am sorry you got scammed though. As the others said, all you can really do is file a dispute. Our trading post is 10 non spam posts (which you have) and a week of registration.

I should've seen it coming due to the nature of those websites, I just figured it'd be nice to get a good account going before I got into trading and everything here. I'll be filing a dispute and hoping for the best I guess haha

Yeah, sites like that have always been shady. I used to buy Mesos from a MapleStory Mesos website and was always on the edge in case I'd been scammed. Sites like those are always looking for someone to fool. When you've gained access to the TP, make sure to go over the rules (if you haven't) and if you do end up running into someone selling stolen accounts/items then you can report it and the person will get banned.

Something that hasn't been mentioned but is very important, before you fire off into our trading post, when you get access, make sure you read the rules and understand how trading is done! If you have questions most people here are willing to help you out.

Thanks, I appreciate the tip. I've already read them but I'll be sure to brush up on them again before trading!

Ouch, it is always better to buy from a community with people that others can vouch for.

It's how I've always done it with games I've played with, you may pay a LITTLE more at times but I'd rather that to guarantee getting what you paid for.

They received the account information after a bit of time and it works, they posted about it a few posts above yours, so they weren't scammed. They just paid too much for something. Receiving what you paid for is not a scam.
