Hello, I am new here. I have been reading various forum posts on this site for quite a while now. And in the end I decided to join, mainly to get the access to the Trading Post and buy some things. However, I would like to know a little bit more about this Trading Post. How it works? What currency/money people use to pay for goods? How safe it is? Does it sell UC pets?

 

I was debating to buy an UC dreamie with real money from this particular site selling various neopets goods (I won't mention the name, in case it is not appropriate here), however it's quite pricey and risky, as in the end you can not be sure, if you won't get frozen. Not to mention, all the safety steps that are quite confusing and time-consuming, so even a slight slip could cost me my account.

 

I would also like to know if it is a reportable abuse of TNT rules to have an account on Neocodex? I know that I should refrain from posting my username on forums, but what about mentioning it to someone via PM? Can this get me in trouble?

 

Last but not the least, I just really want to say hi to everyone here and gradually become an active member, if possible

 

P.S. I would appreciate as much information about UCs buying on here, as possible. How much do they cost, if they are even for sale here. How the whole process after purchasing works? How to get past suspicious PC, etc..

The trading post is where members can trade/sell for things. Someone will post something and if you're interested, you can pm them to work out the details. It's relatively safe. There is trader feedback on each member's profile that will tell you how many times they've successfully traded. We also have middlemen, if you're uncomfortable directly trading with someone. There are UC pets on there sometimes. We don't trade in real money, we trade in 'others'.

 

You should only mention your UN through pm if it's relevant and to members that you trust. You can be iced for being on Codex, just like anything else you do on the internet.

 

I know literally nothing about UCs besides them being freaking expensive.

I'm not too familiar with the Trading post. I'll answer what I can, and I'm sure someone else will gladly answer your questions.

 

You can access it by having 10 non-spam posts, and you'll have to have been a member on Neocodex for 7 days. You can use just about anything for currency (neopoints, other(real currency), or other items. It depends on what you want/what the trader is asking for.)  I advise you be very careful about trading, and attempt to buy from a reputable trader.

 

As for having an account on Neocodex, yes, it is an offense to have an account on codex, and people will report you if you give out your Neopets username in public!

As for the "others", you can't mention actual money when you trade publically. You can't mention something like $5 in a thread, but you can mention 5 "others" instead. In PM's though when you're discussing the price of something, you can mention something like $5. It's just in public where you can't mention actual money values.
