Is it on an auto renewal now? Or If I pay the $4.99 a month will it just be for one month? I really don't like auto renewal type things

When you choose the payment option you have both options: to be a one month subscription or to auto renew either from Paypal or Credit Card!

You can opt to have it auto renew or not via your paypal settings as well. Once you pay for one month, go to Paypal, login > Account Settings > Payments > Pre-Approved Payments and cancel the auto renewal from there.
