I have a desire to change my Neopets identity due to wanting to be disconnected from friends of the past that I no longer speak to. So I recently acquired an account that I'd like to make my new main account, however I have not yet accessed it on my real IP along with my other 5 accounts. I'd like to make it my main account but I'm not sure how to safely do that. To make it more difficult, this account holds a UC.

I'd like to keep my legit side accounts, not sure if I should ice my current main though. Furthermore, if I want to build up my "new main" i.e. game avatars, the Altador plot, etc. should I do that after I transfer my pets and NC items over or before?

Thank you to anyone who is willing to help!

(My apologies if this is in the wrong forum)

If you have a UC you should stay away from posting at the boards no matter what. All the rest you can slowly transfer the items and the pets if you wish while making that account more legit (avatars, altador plot, other game trophies).

I'd start making that account as legit as possible right away :D

I would build up your account with avatars, and the altador plot before you transfer anything over because it'll make it seem better. An transfer to an account that looks somewhat legit is safer than transferring to an account that doesn't have a bunch of stuff on it.

Be careful. Remember you're not "allowed" to play games on more than one account (we all do it, just reminding you). Don't go and get both your accounts iced by doing that.

Wait 24 or more before playing games on a new main, as per what TNT has said about it.

:o 24 or more what? I'll be transferring mains here soon, assuming the person gets back to me. So all of this information is pertinent to me as well.

Can you wait a bit longer till you do it? Because right now it will be a pain to get avatars, most avatars need to check pet lookups so you'll have to spend all day recaptcha'ing.

Anyway, you could start logging in your main less and less and slowly building up your new main. Don't use proxies yet. When you are ready to start transferring things, use a proxy on your main, you'll want your new main linked to your actual IP, then trasnfer the items slowly along with the NPs, I man slowly but you don't have to be a patience grasshopper here, transferring everything in a week span sounds good.

When you feel like home on your new main, transfer the UC pets - but keep the old main, should someone ask about the pets, you'll want your old main to be a friend of yours that is quitting neo.

I'd build the account first as well. It's what I'm doing right now, however I'm using a proxy on my new main.

Do you think they will remove the recaptcha? I got all the clickables on my new account and it took me a lot of time but just because I didn't think they would remove the recaptcha.

    Eventually, I guess so.

    Thanks everyone for the advice!

Another question: All of my "legit" accounts, including old main + 4 side accounts are all on the same email address. How do I take side accounts into account? (no pun intended)

Will using a proxy on my old main just defeat the purpose since all of my side accounts will still be linked to the old main anyway until I explicitly change it?
