I've been collecting an item from user shops. A few times I've gotten an error. Something like "We can't reduce the price of this item. It's a good thing because it may have been duplicated in the process!"

It happened again! Here's the actual error:

 

Error: We could not reduce the amount of this object. Thats a relief, it could have been duplicated!

I've been getting that error for about a week now almost half the time I try to buy from user shops

I haven't had much luck so far...but it was near impossible to get onto the site yesterday for me. Maybe after court this morning I'll be able to give it another shot.

I logged in today and I don't see this lag that people are talking about though.

Apparently people's account scanning bots were causing the server to crash at one point. So they put in captchas on pet and user lookups to block those bots. xD

An editorial apparently said that that was meant as a temporary measure all along though.

Well today I can't even load a page on Neopets, let alone withdraw anything!

Yeah I definitely lost NP on a trade bc of the lag. I've accepted trades since then and it's fine now. 

 

Sent a ticket haven't heard shit. Probably a lost cause at this point.

Worst thing about the captchas is there's a bunch of clickable avatars I never bothered to get around to getting where you just look at pet lookups, and it's way too much work now.

That's alright, several of those avatars broke during the site move anyway so it's just one more reason not to bother
